"What....what is this movie?" Probably some kind of fanfiction that Warner Bros had the balls to call "original" by simply remaking and animating the original Willy Wonka film, but in addition to Tom and Jerry being throughout the entire film for no reason........ *sighs* Why can't they go back making Tom and Jerry movies like Blast Off To Mars, Shiver Me Whiskers, etc that were funny, interesting, and stayed true to what Tom and Jerry were known for? I feel like my childhood is dying right now.....

I’m just flat-out impressed at how many details from the original movie the animators got right. The shot-for-shot opening, the girl getting hit by the hatch on the counter, and even that weird-looking TV set Charlie’s family has with the stair-step shaped casing

But at the same time they drastically messed up the appearance of some of the characters. Mr. Salt, the candy man, Mr. Turpentine the teacher and even Wonka himself look a little off. Maybe they couldn’t get the actors’ likenesses or something, but everyone else looks ok so they stick out like a sore thumb.

Truth be told, the actor who played Slugworth in the original movie _was_ a German actor. Oddly enough, the actor spoke more with an American accent, but he was of German descent. I guess this movie wanted a callback to that.

why not Tom and Jerry meets Willy Wonka is awesome also tom and jerry is hard to write. Tom and Jerry was made to be 6 minutes with total violence. You can't sell a dvd with 6 minutes of total violence the would be weird movies are usually an hour. You would have to make an entire series. And you can't do total violence for 1 hour that wouldn't be fun. Violence is fun when it is done at the right time and they cant talk

What sucks is that a lot of these Tom and Jerry recreations could've been done like the "Tom And Jerry Nutcracker" thing. Where the Tom and Jerry characters were taking the roles of the people in the story. I mean it wouldn't make it GOOD but it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as "Tom and Jerry on the side of this remake of an actually good movie"

Roald Dahl and his friends actually played a prank on the mean candy store owner in their town when he was a kid where they put a dead mouse in a jar of gobstoppers (yes it was where he got the name) when her back was turned. The answer to Doug's question on what candy store owner puts mouse traps in the jars of candy..wouldn't be shocked if Roald Dahl's did after that! Also read that part in his autobiography "Boy"; his mom was a solid gold, mic dropping boss of a person!

15:30 Maybe the screenwriters wanted Slugworth to serve as Veruca's shadow character. Think about it: both Slugworth and Veruca are greedy -- and prone to acting like spoiled brats. In this homage reboot, we see how Mr. Salt drastically alters his parenting style at the end -- so one could argue that the trip to the factory saved Veruca from growing up to be like Slugworth!
