Selleck famously screen-tested for the character of Indiana Jones, but because he was locked into a contract with Magnum P.I., he couldn't take the role! Spielberg and Lucas brought in Harrison Ford just a few weeks before filming. The rest is history, and Harrison Ford's (other) famous franchise was born.
Over the course of 10 days we are able to take thousands of high quality images of Tom Selleck to create a visual effects illusion where he appears to play the infamous role of Indiana Jones.

Well, working off the theory that there are an infinite number of universes (the multi-verse) and therefore an infinite number of possibilities, then yes, that version of the film does exist. Unfortunately, it also means there's a version of the film starring Adam Sandler as Indy and Sally Field as his old man.

Spielberg's first choice was Ford, actually. Lucas didn't want to use Harrison Ford again after Star Wars, and Selleck did the best of all who auditioned, apparently. Selleck later believed he had a scheduling conflict (which later turned out not to be the case), and dropped out, allowing Spielberg to get his way in the end.

I keep saying it, Deepfake tech is the future for placing deceased actors in films and replacing stunt people's faces with actors. It's a hell of a lot more convincing than using traditional CGI, they tried it in Rogue One and it fell into the uncanny valley. I mean people make these videos on very low budgets and they look insanely realistic, imagine what can be done with the budget of a major studio film.

Some of the dialogue fits for Connery to say, such as the lines “"For Scotland " and " I was ready before you were born". All his lines make more sense with Connery in the role but Connery declined, would not come out of retirement. Plus it was the 60th Anniversary since the first EON film Dr No back in 1962. Now there’s a scene to think about. Connery and Craig on screen together in Skyfall.
