I'm not sure if his right-hand hi hat actually articulates or not, but rack or clamp mounted ones can be cable operated by a pedal that you can put wherever. Some drummers just set it to half-open or however they like it and it stays that way.

technically wouldn't it not matter if the 14in. tom was on the right or left because either way the two toms are going to have a combined diameter of 26in. whether the 14in. is on the right or left of the 12in. Unless of course some cymbals might get in the way on the right bu it wouldn't take much adjusting. Then again it's Tomas Haake and he can do whatever he damn well pleases. #drumtech
