This is my favorite time of year, and it decidedly is playing out differently in 2020. WIth rewatches on the rise, I revisited a special from a few years ago that honestly, I didn’t get the credit it deserved at the time. It’s sharp, it's funny, but it also illuminated a lot of my feelings about the holiday season. At the end of the episode when he gets promoted for doing what is morally "right" I think is what made bojack think real life is like a sitcom. Every time in the real world he does what is morally right someone ends up hating him or getting fired, bojack never really grew out of horsin around at all

Except they don't hate him for acting morally right, but for only doing it 1/10 times. They get tired of waiting for that one time to arrive in the mid of all the fucked up stuff he does, you have to act right on a reliable enough basis. And the worst part is that even though he's aware he can never internalize it, he knew that's what was wrong with him when he said it in the funeral, but at the same time it was simply what he figured would be part of a good speech, simply the next "good" moment prior to the next douchebag phase. If he had really felt the people around him he wouldn't have gotten the wrong room.

I loved it whenever it cuts back to Bojack and Todd commentating on the video. That's kind of what my family and I would do nowadays whenever we watch our Christmas specials/movies.

Holy moley...you still have sound-volume-leveling issues 😕 it'll be much quieter than the base level of almost all other videos, meaning I have to turn the volume up...then all of a sudden, BANG!!! You start yelling at a much louder volume! Annoying & frustrating 😑
