Hello, my name is Jeff Dyer, and I’m with RHE Hat-Co, manufacturers of Stetson and Dobbs hats in North America, and I'm here today at Fashionable Hats in Largo, Florida, and we're discussing Stetson dress hats priced over $100.
So today we have to start from my left to the right with the Midtown. Midtown is a nice large flat brim hat, very fashionable at this time, has a nice teardrop c crown so the crown isn't too high. This will give you lots of shade, lots of looks.
Then we're going to move to the Stratoliner. Stratoliner has been in the Stetson lineup for since the 1940s. This guy has a bound edge with a matching thin ribbon teardrop crown. This hat can be worn snap down or up; comes in multiple colors, also comes in different straws, for those of you want thinking about having something to keep you covered but cool in the summer.
And next we have the Chatham, the Whippet, and the Temple. These three hats are made out of fu felt. They also come in wool. The fur’s a little more expensive since that's why it's an over $100 range. So we have the Chatham with a teardrop crown raw edge matching band comes with multiple colors. This hat will last you a lifetime as long as you take care of it and don't put a hole in it.
The Whippet, very similar, slightly taller crown, same sized brim. And it has a much bigger bound edge then if you look at the Stratoliner, much smaller, much bigger, a little bit bolder, look to it.
And the Temple, center dent pinch raw edge. You want up or down, you just think about the temple is this brim is longer front to back than it is side to side. Whereas these hats, basically the brim is the same distance from the crown all the way around. This one is not. So you have more coverage front and back without having to have the brim extend over your shoulders too far and start looking a little bit awkward possibly.
