U can buy faster frequency RAM. No need to get the same frequency ram. This is the only criteria which we can choose for better performance. Rest can't be chosen. Like if you have 8 GB in first slot, you have to get 8 gb for second slot.

@@TechZonical Hi bro, I researching & I found on the official website that my laptop CPU i5 7200U supports DR4-2133MHz ram. ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/95443/intel-core-i5-7200u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html but they haven't said that I can or cannot use ram of higher frequency.

@@anujmuzik Ok. They will never say these things. See what happens. If you install higher frequency RAM, Because of the 7th Gen processor the clock speed may be limited at 2133MHz. As far as I know starting form 8th or 9th Gen few things got changed. Older processors were not supporting much stuff.

If you have extra slot, buy 4gb only. If u r thinking to add more, u should buy 8+8 gb if your laptop supports. Don't make combination of 4+8 gb

Just get SSD first. Ram will not help. Laptop is slow because of HDD. RAM is only useful for multitasking.

Yes. Logically it will only use bigger RAM which is 8GB. The load balance mechanism get disturbed. U will see in computer 12GB but it will act like 8GB. So just 4+4 is ideal. Also ur laptop is only 7th gen. Total 8gb will be sufficient.

@@TechZonical Sir I also upgrade my laptop HDD to SSD, in this moment my laptop belongs 1 tb hdd. But there are no m.2 slot. So I decided to set up 500gb ssd in dvd slot. If do it, can I use the existing 1tb hdd in my laptop as an internal hdd, not extarnal. Please reply within 20 minutes if possible.

No benefit of ur laptop doesn't support dual channel ram. I recently tested this. I'm my laptop also 2400 mhz ram in one slot and i bought 2666 mhz ram but actual is coming only 2400 mhz. So don't waste money on high frequency. Just go with 2400 mhz ram only. If your laptop supports dual channels then no issues. U can go with higher one

It depends on your motherboard whether it supports dual channel or not. If not, dual channel ram will be useless because it will not appear after installing it

No no. DDR5 will take time a bit. It will never happen actually. Any laptop which is supporting DDR4, that will not support next version. DDR thing is tge number of Pins in RAM. So, that's physical thing. U can't increase tge number of sockets physically in laptop or even desktop.

yes its works on your laptop this is a hybrid type so only 4 or 8 GB stick are working on your laptop as primary ram other stick is only for storing your software so you use 8+8 or 4+4 for maximum performance and the same MHZ frequency of ram type otherwise you waste your money and no such effect on your laptop performances as you imagine

Mere laptop main 4 gb ka ram hai 2400MHz ka kiya maine 16 gb 3200MHz ka ram laga lu to fast chalega without SSD ke kiyo ki dell ka ssd bahut costly hai isliye ram lagwa rahe hai plz bataye

Hello sir I have one old laptop which is acer aspire 4741 with i3-330M processor..i want to update my ram to 8gb but maximum frequency supported by mother board is 1066mhz ,can i install two 4gb ram of 1600mhz frequency? Will this ram work? Please reply thanks

Aisa kiya to old ram bhi fir 1600 pe hi chalegi.. Go for 2400 or higher. Don't downgrade

I have an query.... My laptop supports 32GB Ram with 2 slots..... earlier it have both slots occupied by 4GB DDR4 2666MHz Rams. I want to upgrade to 16 GB as its lags a lot. Suggest me what can I do? Do I purchase a single Strip of 16GB DDR4? If so, then what frequency do I buy? 2666Mhz or 3200Mhz? The Processor is of Core-i5 10th Gen

4gb ram inbuilt in my mother board in my laptop and their is only one ram slot in my laptop so can I add 12gb ram in this slot. And it's work properly? Please tell me

No. Better u add only 4 gb extra. 12 gb ram is difficult to get and not a good choice. The reason is memory management.
