I heard that too. I grew up on Ain't Jemima and my dad told me she was once dressed as a "mammie" but the creators thought better to remove the red and white head scarf because it was offensive. I never knew that it was modeled after an actual woman and her relatives made money off of her image. To not see her pretty face on the products makes me sad....it's a part of my childhood. I don't like how they just opted to remove her entirely. I don't see many african americans like myself represented in marketing. Now we have none.

How on God's green earth was that an insult and not an honor to Indians?
