I live in the Uk and prefer american flat lemonade. The gas in the fizz aint good. Thats why I like lemonade on draft, it’s flatter.

It's a language difference. in the uk We don't use the term soda. the only reason people in the uk would be aware of the word is american tv or products like sodastream. If you walked into a uk pub or cafe and asked for a soda, some wouldn't have a clue what you're talking about. for example we wouldn't describe coca cola as a soda, we'd say it was a soft drink or a fizzy drink...& when i grew up, back in the 90s we'd have called it pop too. typically in the uk we use the suffix 'ade' to denote wether a drink is carbonated. so lemonade in the uk is fizzy, other examples are cherryade, limeade and non branded fanta/tango would be called orangeade. an example you'll likely know is lucozade, that's a drink that was created in britian, it's always had the ade suffix, cause it originated as a fizzy drink. we'd call it juice if it's a still drink. we also have squash which is a super concentrated form of drink that you add water to dilute to your own taste. squash is a long term option for orange and other soft fruit drinks. there are tonnes of language variations between the uk and the usa.another example is chips, in the u.s you'd call doritos chips. where as in the uk they're crisps. chips in the uk are what you would call fries. they're typically thicker over here, though we do have french fries, they're just a variation of chips. assume you've heard of a fish and chip shop.

lemonade and sprite/ 7up, are different flavours. it's not accurate to call sprite/7up lemonade. sprite/7up is a lemon and lime fizzy drink. they taste very different. if you were blindfolded and given a drink of lemonade and a drink of sprite, you'd instantly know the difference. as the old saying goes they're apples and oranges. MAybe have a look in some of those foreign food shops that are likely scattered across the usa. imagine you'll be able to find a place with foreign food and drinks...you can in the uk at least, my local supermarkets all have little sections of american products like cereal, sweets, chocolate that are never released in the uk. alittle more expensive than normal food but the different options are fascinating.

I live in the Maritimes (Canada) and you can buy a carbonated drink called lemonade in the grocery stores here alongside the store brand cola, lemon-lime, ginger-ale, etc., but it's not as popular and it's not the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word lemonade. There are several kinds of orange flavoured drinks, and I think cream soda is supposed to be an artificial cherry-flavour, but the lemon is the only one we have with the -ade suffix. There may have been such a thing as limeade when I was a kid, but either they stopped making it, or my grandmother was just misreading the French side of the lemonade bottle. lol Wikipedia gives the impression that Britons call Sprite and 7up lemonade. Someone should probably go edit that...
