That's good advice but not always possible to follow. I remember being punched on the left side of my head while sitting in my taxicab in front of the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco while waiting for a fare. That was way back in 1973 and fortunately for me at the time I was taking boxing lessons at the old Newman-Herman Gym and sparring with both Amateurs and professionals. I was also in great shape.

I'd read that when I was young and think that's b.s. Now I'm an adult... Lots of fights, friends who box do BJJ... prison...all that. Best thing u can do is avoid confrontation and if u have to escalate an issue for your own safety do it. I'd rather be alive than dead. If it's not that serious it's not worth it. I was hard headed had to find out everything for myself the hard way... Hope some kid out there sees this chooses different

Same experience, thought me and my friend would be outta place then I started talking to people and there were a couple of people who grew, everyone drank and pretty sure one guy was a meth head lol. Either way, outside a few A holes who don't like how I drove or that I'd light off fireworks (reasonable hours during the day, not like I was doing it at midnight or anything rude), the majority of people just had a- "you don't bother me and I won't bother you" attitude.

I'm almost 40. I don't smoke, but pretty much everyone that I know does. What surprised me, was learning that so many people older than me smoke.

@sancho004 Not with me I always told my friends and family to stay out unless I was down and done and dude kept going them step in otherwise don't was always my way. But I also always liked a good fight when I was younger. And obviously alot has changed and yes people did jump people in the late 80's and 90's but today it's rare to see a 1 v 1 and it's kinda pathetic if you wanna run your mouth but then need you're friends to help you fight. It's just like how everyone these days needs a gun rather then just throw hands and move on with each of you're life's. I've fought people back when I was a teen and into my 20's that after ended up becoming friends after a good fight but unfortunately again that's rare now. IMHO a real man can fight his own fight!
