Looking good! I went with the OEM skid plate for my ORP and my noodle arms regret that I went OEM instead of the Cartrimehome plate every time I need to drop the plate for an oil change.

Bolts in the kit work fine. You are supposed to remove the front plastic filler pannel. ( thats also why your TRD letters didn't fit well without trimming)

I am now ready to pull the trigger on that skid plate. It looks like it has more clearance than the other stock one found in SR5/TRD Off road non premium trim!

after installing mine, i had an idea. painters tape to hold the spacer in place when holding the plate up. that was the worst part of my install.

Excellent. Looking at a TRD Off-Road. I like your skid plate. Will make changing oil easier. Regarding KDSS, is it worth getting? Hard to find, but most of our driving will be on road. But would like to do take some easy off road trips. Would appreciate your input? Also, looking at Rock Slider. Any opinion on the OEM Rock Slider? Thank you. I sub to your channel :-). Keep up the good work.

Army green letters! But my question: I have the TRD ORP and my pet peeves are that headlights don't transition from day to night automatically and that there isn't dual sided AC. Can I upgrade those things?

Realistically no, if it didn’t come with it. The main interior harness is diferente, lots of work involved. I sometimes wish mine had the dual climate control. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Army Green or maybe even Quicksand letters? love the build, you consider the bronze emblems front and rear to match the wheels? I have done many of the same mods as you on mine. I am doing my front fascia this weekend, and I need the skid plate as I do all my own oil changes. OEM hardware is a great idea. Are you going to upgrade the oil filter housing to the aluminum Tundra one?

Only when someone over torques it, then you have to damage it to remove it. A few times I saw actual debris brake it but we have a skid plate covering it, no need to worry about that.🤷🏼‍♂️

So with skid plates you always need the mounting hardware. The Tacoma TRD PRO OEM skid plate is an excellent option ( it does have the oil filter access panel) 💪🏻

I agree with Bronze… or painting the skid plate bronze and then going with green or black accent lettering. The Army Green and Bronze is a great look I’d keep going with bronze and blank accents as they work very well together with the Green. I’m doing a blue and bronze build on my 23 Nautical Blue 4Runner ORP and the bronze emblems just arrived tonight, I can’t wait to install them this weekend. I’ve been enjoying following your build as well as all of your 4Runner content, it’s been giving me too many ideas haha. Keep up the great work, and quality content!

i bought the Tuskinz ones since the letters that came with mine were broke but the ones from Tufskinz are vastly larger than the letters you get for skid plate from cartrimehome. I guess the OEM TRD skid plate alot more different from than this one than I thought.

You did the right thing, the screws that come with the actual skid plate are not only too short, they’re lower quality. Excellent choice, you will love this skid plate.

I would go with Army green. I have 13 Trail Salsa Pearl so I would want the letters to match but on the black skid plate for me Right now i got an RCI steel that I cant put on because after 10 years several bolts are not cooperating.

Just installed mine... the pegs on the back of the letters don't fit, too long? they push against plastic trim behind the plate which pushes the letters out. got dark as i was installing, ill look tomorrow if i have to drill the plastic or something. and yes, the provided front bolts are not long enough, I'm glad I got longer ones. also as viking says, DO NOT install skid plate with letters pre-installed. Im guessing i will be trimming the pegs down on the letters and hoping the 2 sided tape does all the work.

Absolutely, but you can also remove that plastic trim piece. I just opted to not remove it.

That access panel for the oil filter looks kinda small. Is there enough room to get your hand into there when changing the oil filter? I am thinking about getting the same skid plate. Pain in the ass having to remove the factory skid plate every time I have to do an oil change.

The Drain plug has its on access door in the other skid plate. It’s held by 2, 12mm bolts. If you look under there, you can’t miss it.

:BLACK: I want this one for my 21 TRD ORP!!! Sucker isn’t cheap either! Edit: $250 ain’t too bad if it’s legit and havin your approval id have to say it is. PS can’t wait to see you do the black valances front & rear. Need to do that to my black TRD ORP bad. It stands out negatively imo

@@VikingsGarage appreciate it, yeah I noticed that after posting lol but didn’t find the video. I’ll check those two though. Yeah mine are silver too and it came with all the blackouts on the XP Predator package, apparently a southeast area upgrade, but my truck is midnight black metallic and they kept those silver balances smh those are definitely gettin swapped sooner than later.
