I live in Tampa and have decided not to evacuate, me and my family have boarded up the house and have taken the necessary pro cautions as well as having enough supplies. I wish all my fellow Floridians good luck and pray that we all get through this safely. May god be with us all.

I lost the house I was renting and my car and all my belongings in Hurricane Sandy. so when I see this, I'm heartbroken because I know what most of you are about to go through. and make sure when FEMA comes and they ask you how long you plan on being out of your house, attention!! especially renters, please pay attention to this, if your landlord tells FEMA that they'll have the place ready in the next four or five months that's absolutely not true It took my landlord 2 years to get the CO make sure you know what you're signing attention renters make sure you are there, when your landlord is signing anything with FEMA unbeknownst to them, they might be signing away your rights to get more money, so make sure you're privy to everything that's going on even if you trust your landlord and he or she might even have good intentions, yet you need to be present for all signing of documents. I don't want to see you fellow Floridians make the mistakes I made Just ad important imperative I mean, I implore you I beg you please please please take your animals your pets even your fish they can't swim in that dirty water not trying to be funny, but I had 4 cats my rescue dog and a betta fish and they came with us no matter what, we would not leave the house without them even when we found ourselves stuck, and the fire department because of the situation we were in what happened to our car, they would not take us to the shelter unless we had a cage for our dog, but we would not leave our baby behind we loved him just like he's our own son you make a commitment with your pets for life and you do whatever you can do and it was difficult but we found a way my apologies for being repetitive but please do not leave them at home whether you have to call other people to help with alternative plans to get a cage, or find somewhere anywhere to bring your pets if you can't bring them where you're going most places will accept you with your pets they're not going to turn you all away they didn't turn us away do not leave them at home they will not survive !! in the end we lost everything except what was on our body and a few possessions we had in a bag and it hurt for a while afterwards when we were allowed back in and we had to throw out what was left which wasn't much. friends came over and help us throw out the rest of the items in the house some things in the Attic were saved but that was about. Yet, in the end even though it was upsetting we came to the realization that what matters the most and you"ll realize this, is your loved ones and your pets.that's what matters, Again Animals cannot fend for themselves they cannot reach Higher Ground they are smart but they are not capable of putting Wings on in flying high into the sky and I'm not trying to be facetious or funny I'm just serious please do not leave your pets behind think right now they're sitting there in their living room or in your bed with you if you have evacuated yet haven't taking your pets with you right now they have no idea what's about to hit them and it is not fair to them they are part of your family and they must be taken with you and if you left and you did not get them do whatever you can to get someone to go get them or find a way to get back for them I'm sure you love them and you were thinking well we can't bring them where we're going that's not true please do not leave your pets again my thoughts and prayers are with you and we love you up here in New Jersey and we're thinking about you all God bless you
