Week 1 day 4 of this series documenting my powerlifting training for 9 weeks up to a competition. Unfortunately I got sick last night by eating some questionable rice. So today I had to train while sick. If this was a hard session I would normally delay it, the main concern while training is to avoid injury and being sick can often dehydrate you putting you more at risk of injury. Luckily today was a light session and I lowered the weights further to make sure everything was safe.

Thanks a lot, I just have so little free time with all the things I do. But figured I could post my training with minimal editing and that would at least keep things coming and do proper videos in between those.

I feel ya i had a broken rib for 3 weeks and now i been ill for a week even tho i havent been anywere or done anything

Yeah I still run my rice through a strainer when I rinse it just so I can see if there are any bugs in there. There are lots and lots of little flea-looking bugs in bags of rice no matter which part of Asia are you get them from. Although your predicament sounds a little bit different?

Eww that sounds gross haha. Yeah mine was microwaveable white rice in a pot basically. I read mould can be dangerous. Still feel a little dodgy today but mostly fine for tomorrow's heavy day

Its actually crazy how big your strength fluctuations are lol I guess for natties its different but if my bench like legit dropped 20-30kg in such a time Id think I got cancer or something Like peaked not peaked whatever but I guess my up-swings are also obviously not as strong

Yeah it's been 6 months since my last comp though and 3 months of basically not training. If I continued with no break there would be a normal fluctuation. But having downtime is good occasionally with so many years of consistently pushing it. It's like John haacks bench dropped over 50 while still training just strongman instead of powerlifting. At the top level a peak only lasts so long

@@HadynWiseman Yeah sure as I said I also never research these giant peaks like a 3.5x bw squat but even after 3 months of just some random sports no lifting I never had that.

Idk I think it just has to do with taking time off mostly. I recently had to take about 10 wks of no training just like Haydn and my strength is in the toilet rn. Best squat b4 the break was 170 and still progressing fast, squatted 80x5 yesterday and I'm currently crippled by the DOMs...

@@Cin9999 yeah once you're approaching 4x bodyweight squats and deads and 2.5x bench then it will leave you in a matter of weeks if not training it regularly

@@samj8932 Well as I said below here, so interestingly for me that is never the case even with like 1-3 months off and just doing some recreational sports. Come back and my numbers are surely down but not that much though.

If he had covid he would be struggling to breathe, so, in a way, he was fortunate he ingested mold instead of inhaling it, meaning his body can and will kill off the spores faster 🤞🤞
