This video shows you how to install a lower ball joint on your 2008-2012 Honda Accord. Car and truck suspensions combine a number of moving parts for safe and stable handling. The ball joint is the crucial moving component that ties those parts together. The ball-in-socket joint can wear out and loosen over time. Or, the rubber protective boot can tear, allowing contaminants to seize the joint. Bad ball joints are a common failure point on vehicle inspections because they lead to unsafe driving conditions. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to replace with the right know-how.

how did you get a brand new unit from walking from your work bench to the car ? also no reason to open bleeder screw just open master cylinder and use c- clamp to set caliper back in.

Interesting. In the 80s, to push the caliper piston in, I was shown to just pop the lid off the master cylinder to allow fluid to circulate back up the brake line while I'm pushing the piston in. Never had an issue in the dozens of brake jobs I've done since then. I only mess with the bleed screws when it's time to bleed.

The lower ball joint press is a PAIN IN THE ASS to remove with LOAN A TOOLS. Yall are better off buying the adapter pieces and well.. getting a rental C clamp from AUTOZONE. I rented all their kits but NOTHING would fit Sooo here i am... at home with my car on jack stands. Lucky for me i have a motorcycle for use to get to work... I thought I would be able to do it with Autozones tools but NOOOPE.. Maybe unless I just a dremel and cut the ball joint spindle so the C Clamp can fit the smaller cups??? Mmm ill try doing that tomorrow after I get off from work. But seriously! you need all the tools or at least another mode of transportation otherwise youll be stranded and having to wait a couple days for the right tools to ship in to you lol Ill update this later when I attempt to dremel the ball joint... but what is making anxious right now is HOW IN THE F am i going to install the new ball joint lol Probably better off buying the whole hub w/ knuckle. Totally not worth it unless you already have the tools to do this being as the adapter pieces for the C Clamp press for a Honda Accord run about 145 lolololol

How reliable are these steering knuckles and ball joints compared to OEM? Because it's a major difference in price

nice description with links to everything except what i need. what is the tool part number for that press kit you used, every one for rent at a parts store is for older models with smaller joints, the one on the 8th gen accord and crosstours is bigger than those and it makes it a total pain.

After having a shop replace (poorly) ball joints twice I went to another shop where they told me that they can't replace the ball joints any longer due to have been pressed in an out too many times. I opted to go with OEM knuckles with ball joints already pressed in. Hopefully I no longer have issues of ball joints failing within a few months.

So dealer said on my repair sheet for 2014 honda accord ( both front lower ball joint boot splits ) so what acutal part do i need

Did you cut the threads off of the ball joint so depressed tool would fit?

Learn from my mistake, it’s not worth replacing a 2011 Honda Accord lower ball joint. Just buy a loaded knuckle instead (wheel hub, knuckle, and ball joint pre installed). Rockauto and probably TRQ etc sells them.

Easier way to get those rotor screws out is to heat them up and they come out like butter. That way you don't mess up the head of the screw. Just did mine with a torch and the screw looks brand new still.
