I Noah Thomas, the creator of this channel, have been diagnosed hypogonadism by a medical doctor and legally prescribed the medically indicated treatment of Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
My Story
My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a medication called VIVITROL and consequently, spiraled into a suicidal depression with depersonalization and anxiety. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who, along with many siblings and friends, had to watch me 24/7 as I was a danger to myself. Eventually I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different doctor prescribed SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, mood stabilizers, anti-psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I had an explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started legally prescribed testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 6 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been 1 HUGE part of the puzzle but I have had to continue to work hard to hold on to my mental stability with many set backs. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor.
I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time and I also share this on my channel.

When i was 25 i was on top of the world and jacked... probably because i was adding extra T to my training which i don't recommend to do especially if you don't medically need it and now in my early 50s I've been fighting anhedonia anxiety depression and overall a big decline in quality of life and mental health....on a good note I took the step to actually get a physical just yesterday and my doctor was amazing and totally understands were im coming from and just as soon as she gets my blood work back she said we would come up with a plan because she already suspects its my Testosterone and she likes to treat the symptoms not the numbers and my last test about two years ago my numbers were at the bottom of the reference range but my doctor in my opinion really didn't understand just how bad i felt so guys definitely take your hormone health seriously and never be afraid to ask for help.

@@EnDependance123PCOS stands for polycystic ovarian syndrome. It is a medical endocrine disorder and the #1 cause of infertility in women. I have adjusted my diet, was put on hormonal birth control at age 14 (no longer on it) and have been to hell and back. I don’t think a medical diagnosis is a label, but rather a way for me to tweak my diet, sleep, exercise, and supplements for my individual needs. The depression and anxiety are getting better by the day because I know I have this medical problem and I am treating it appropriately. Namaste.

I've been suffering from depersonalization disorder for as long as I can remember since being a kid. Recently as a 38 year old man I finally got blood work done and it showed my free testosterone as being at 56.3 pg/mL which is way on the low side of the range according to the information they gave me which is a normal range of 46 to 224 pg/mL. My doctor encouraged me to try to increase my free testosterone naturally by lifting weights and eating certain foods... but after lifting heavy for 6+ months and eating more meats, I have not noticed any difference in my depersonalization disorder. I am considering trying testosterone supplements and if that doesn't work trying replacement therapy. It feels like I've lived my entire life with a veil between me and reality, like I have one foot in the real world and one foot in the dream world. I'm tired of feeling like this, I'll try anything to make it go away. Most people who discuss depersonalization disorder talk about having it for a limited amount of time, but I've had it for as long as I can remember throughout my entire life. I have been trying to get my health insurance to authorize an MRI of my brain - we are trying to rule out all potential physical causes of the depersonalization disorder. If my brain is fine and my hormones are fine, I am worried that my depersonalization disorder is psychological which will be harder to fix.

I was diagnosed very young with low t and have been treated for over 12 years either essentially zero changes to my protocol minus going down from 200 to between 140-160mg weekly many years ago. I don’t doubt my drinking in my early twenties impacted my levels but I was I just a couple days a week drinker at that time. I think other lifestyle factors and mental health issues played a roll. As I’ll never know, I just stay in gratitude today for the health I have and work hard to control what I can and stay humble.

I’d say the vast majority of my days are two meals. 12 to 1500 cal first meal mostly comprising of oatmeal fruits protein powders, peanut butter, etc. Second meal is usually about a pound of some meat with a good amount of rice and a large serving of some kind of vegetable. I usually finish my night with some mangoes yogurt, walnuts Dehydrated peanut butter and honey. Roughly 35 to 4000 cal a day 200+ grams of protein 300+ grams of carbs 120-150 g of fat. An occasional day where I will eat way less maybe 1200 to 2000 cal and the occasional day while I eat more maybe 4000 to 6000 cal. I keep meaning to do a full day of eating video, but sometimes lack the motivation to get it done. I’m doing about two hours of CrossFit training six days a week as well. One full rest day one active recovery day. This keeps my weight between 196 and 199.

Almost 4 months on TRT, 180mg weekly dosage at clinic and I don't feel much difference at all. Sex is still not as good as it should be, there's some growth on muscle but it's just a placebo effect because I started going to the gym regularly so the small gains would've happened regardless. No changes whatsoever besides a $60 monthly co-pay, (they bill my insurance $200+ weekly) and a 45min drive each way to the clinic on Fridays after work. What gives?

@@plslc1 that could also be the problem. You don’t want to shut off your estrogen, it’s all about balance. I’ve been playing with different doses, AIs etc for years trying to get “dialled in”. It can take a long time to get there. If your SHBG is low you won’t feel much benefit from the test even if your test levels are optimal. Could be a number of things.
