I'm not American, I'm from Europe. I had heard about books being banned from schools in some states, but I never thought that it would become illegal for librarians to check them out. Illegal? For real? That is hardcore censorship. Americans always seem so proud of their freedom, I wonder when they will realise that they aren't free. Censorship can never be a sign of freedom.

No former or sitting president has ever done anything like DT has done. No president has ever gone to jail. Nixon was probably the closest, he was smart enough to resign and shut up in retirement. Trump continues to lie, disregard the courts rules, yes all courts have rules for court procedures and everyone that doesn't abided is fined, detained (jailed). The judge is one new ground and is going out of his way to finish this mess. Trump is making a fool of him self, his.attorneys, and the justice system. He sincerely believes only his way is the right way. FYI all courts are cold to keep people awake when listening to some needed but boring evidence.

As a lifetime patron of the Chicago Public Library, I swear I never knew the re-shelf cart was for us to put books on. I thought it was for Librarians who were in the middle of reshelving books. I didn't even know I could take a book off of that cart! I now mostly use CPL online and Hoopla and Overdrive.📚+⌨️=🥰 Shout out to the Harold Washington Library and the Winter Room! 📖🌿❄️

When I was last in a court room during a trial, we were not allowed to be using our phones. Bailiff informed us before the Judge came in. Phone/texting etc should not be allowed in the court.

They aren't swarming to the trial because they've learned their lesson from Jan 6. Not the lesson we want them to learn, though. What they've learned is not to put themselves on camera. They are still scheming, planning, and actively setting their plans in motion. They've just learned not to mindlessly advertise it, because they know every face on video will be filed for later use when they try to take over again. Reddit and the message boards are full of threads explaining the long term strategy. Don't get complacent.

I have a masters degree in library science. I am not a librarian but I love librarians. My favourite course was on censorship. Books and those who run libraries should be protected by the First Amendment. Those who are the accused in a criminal trial, who are harassing and intimidating witnesses, jurors and other judicial system participants, and getting their riot-happy lemmings to do the same, should not enjoy the same level of protected speech. Why is that so hard to understand?

I loved your segment on Librarians. Much of my success in life I owe to librarians. I started a business to pay my way through college. The librarians aided me by directing me to trade journals and business planning for advertising and growth. I wound up growing the business and hiring 13 people to work for me. It was almost 50 years ago. I was paying my part times $10 per hour. I had zero turnover and was making a good living. I finished my degree, then got a second one. To all librarians "YOU ARE DEEPLY APPRECIATED"
