Next time you see a little old white lady in her 60s or 70s, remember this is what she was jamming to when she was young, and we all had the hots for Jim.

I love it when you comments here saying "next time you see... Or when I was a young... Living in...". I think what we should all get out of this channel is you can never prejudge a person. We are not all we seem to be on the outside, and the older we are the more stories we have. I was lucky to have been raised by my grandparents as my parents traveled incessantly. I never dismiss an elder person and I cherish the lessons I learned from them. (I'm a writer so I like listening to people's stories anyway) Rock on lady, Rock on!

The Doors. Light My Fire, Live on Ed Sullivan Show. Ed asked Jim Morrison to change a verse in the song he would be singing ahead of time, thinking that it was to obscene for the audience . Jim said O.K. Then sang the verse the original way. Needless to say , The Doors were never invited back on the Show, LOL

This is one of the best Doors songs, I jam to it when I'm driving. So is LA Woman. I'm glad you did those two. Doors songs. I've been following you on KZfaq for awhile and love that you are open minded and have some musical taste. Also, on a more personal note and I mean this only in the best way: it is great to work hard toward your goals, but you also need to have a life too, things like sleep, fresh air, etc. So don't apologize for taking some time for yourself. Everyone needs it. You (thank God) are not a robot.

And yeah Jim Morrison is the person singing and he’s the guy in the picture. He died at 27 in 1971. This song is the opening track on their 1970 album Morrison Hotel. The version you reacted to is a differently mixed version that’s a little different than the Morrison Hotel one but it’s still good.

When the Doors were touring, and after the concert, Morrison would often go to the black part of town to find the blues bars. He would drink beer and listen until they closed. Sometimes he would be recognized and asked to sing with tbe band. Often they would lock the DOORS at closing time and play until the sun came up. The blues had a special place in his soul. In the song LA woman he sings...Mister "mojo rising" rearranged the letters spell Mister " Jim Morrison". Would be a good song for you to critique. Keep up the good work....Thumbs-up.

The story I heard was, while they were on a break between recordings, Jim was having a smoke with Alice Cooper, and Alice told him he'd woken up that morning and grabbed himself a beer. That statement resonated with Jim enough that he wrote it into the song. Not sure how accurate that story is, but it makes for a great story.

That's basically a blues jam, the 60s' was about young white men who loved the black man's music blues and R&B, learned how to play it, and then wrote the blues sound into their own music. The Rolling Stones and the Animals were two bands that stand out as examples of this. Black people of this era didn't want to hear the blues anymore but young white musicians brought the blues back to the young people of the day and caused a huge resurgence of the blues which brought artists such as BB King, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, and many more out from the Chitlin' Circuit and into the mainstream of American culture. So it was young white blues-loving musicians, myself included, who saved the blues and made it the Gold Standard for musicians all over the world now, sixty years later. Love your reactions and Thx for playing Billie Holiday!!! Please react to "Catfish Blues" by Big Jack Johnson.
