honestly my favourite part of this task is that after putting the ball of string on the cushion, mae stands there like a child looking for approval from a parent. like it's so cute how they genuinely want to do well lol

Seems there's quite a few people upset about this clever trick. Typically a task will say something like "...fastest wins." or something like that, there have been several tasks with hidden information on the task, and even more multiple part tasks that either score separately if it tells you how to win multiple times, or scores once if it tells how to score only once. 15 series in and people still don't think to check the back of the task, or to ignore parts that don't tell you how to win. Great job on Alex's part for still having curveballs to throw this late in the game.

Yep. I liked it. The only change I would make is to put the typed Taskmaster signature on the back instead of the front. But really well played, Alex.

It says “completely unwind this ball of string.” Each task has a full objective. In the universally read half of this task brief, it is only stated what *is to be done.* Without the phrase “Fastest/Slowest time wins”, or some other objective to tell you an unrelated final objective for the task; this brief has no pause, mandatory for signaling the end of a task brief. I do not know whether to unwind the ball the slowest or quickest, and however unorthodox the latter is; it be a possibility, until otherwise stated. That is why I knew to look on the back of the task.

this task really annoyed me! there's nothing on the back task saying the front task wasn't valid so why was that taken as the real task? I don't mind when there's a clue on the back but a whole secret real task just seems unfair

And what would you score the front instruction based on? It doesn't say if fastest wins, most dramatic wins, most creative wins, messiest wins, etc. No scoring criteria means no score. I like when Alex throws a "check the front and back of the task" curve ball.

@@JLF201 ahh you're right there, I think because it said your time started when you said alex's name I (and the contestants) assumed it was fastest wins. I'm still not into it personally but it makes more sense now so thanks :)

Frankie got jipped on this. Alex gave all the rest hints that there was more on the task, not so for Mr. Boyle.

This clip shows that Alex asked all the contestants (including Frankie) if they were sure they completed everything in the task. Did Alex give the other contestants additional clues that were cut from this clip?

and in 2025 when these episodes finally make it to Youtey, the rest of the world can be in on the jokes. until then we will have to sit and ponder greater things in life until these episodes in their entirety are posted here to Youtey. if you only knew how horrible 2023 is, we really could use a full dose of full on comedy to soothe it's a mental health thing innit

I really dislike this task. The "back of the task" shenanigans should never make it impossible to complete the task if you didnt spot it, it should be helpful with the task, but not the task itself.

The front didn't say how to win the task. The back says "fastest wins" after the additional instructions. I would have liked it more if they had put the typed Taskmaster signature on the back and not the front.
