Kinda doubt that Sicilian gets into KID positions!

@@Mac-ur3qp If you want to get into Sicilian, check out the Dragon, Accel Dragon, and the Kan Sicilian. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses; the Kan is especially easy to learn, I found, and a lot of people are unsure how to play against it at the lower level :)

I have been playing a lot of the Ruy Lopez with ‘white’ and starting to transpose into a kind of King’s Indian Attack depending on how my opponent responds to 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3. . . If they go with the traditional Nc6 defending the e5 , I will working with the Ruy Lopez, but if they play something else, I have found it beneficial to change it up with more of a KIA setup. Now with ‘Black’ I have been playing a lot of the Pirc agains e4 and the KID agains d4. I really want to change it up a little and very interested in the Sicilian. I try not to memorize a ton of moves and lines versus understanding what is happening and how I can improve the position along with my pieces. Thank you for the suggestions as I will look into them. After a few years of playing I am really beginning to see ‘tactics’ and how beneficial it is to work on them daily. Best of luck to you!

I like the shorter games personally so I can see as many games as possible to see all the various lines.

I understand you. For me these 5 minute games are perfect since I think fast enough now. But a few months back I loved watching only 10 mins or longer. They both have their benefits. Maybe he could mix it up. One video 10min where he explains more in depth and another 5 for those who don't need that much depth anymore

Well in this video he is playing the modern wich is not the classic Indian game. KID starts with Nf6 and d6. In general it is very flexible and can be played against anything though you might need to change strategies against for example the london. What you want is to lock the center shut rotate your kingside knight to h5 and play the pawn break f5. This will also make your rook a monster piece when that file opens up. But when the center shuts and your opponent has grabbed space aggressively you might find yourself with very little obvious moves and you need the skill to manauver in a closed and tight position. Moving a piece on the backrank so a knight can take that square, or a clearance sacrifice where you push a pawn on a square where it will get taken and can't be recaptured because you want a piece to move on the square where the pawn used to be. Such ideas can grant you a lot of easy wins on the lower elos.

Most people name it that way so it's easier to explain.
