Xeno clears P8S Phase 2, final boss of Pandaemonium Abyssos. Abyssos: The Eighth Circle (Savage) was one of the hardest savage raid tiers ever released in Final Fantasy 14 with some incredibly hard damage checks in week 1. But they did it! They cleared! Yay!

I'm super glad I got to see this live and I'm very happy that your group was able to hold fast and complete the raid tier week one. I can't tell you how many raid groups I saw break up over this raid tier which I personally attribute to (1) underestimating how difficult checks would be given the extra week of prep/tomes/gear/etc and (2) not allocating enough free time for the raid tier because they just assumed they'd be able to kill it in 2-3 days. I also agree with a comment you said on stream that the last boss of a raid tier should probably drop even more gear than it currently does when there's a super difficult door boss at the beginning.

I agree with the door boss thing for sure. Haven't done P8S yet, but P4S part one was harder than the entirety of P1S, with a higher dps check. Maybe either extra loot at the end of the boss, or beating the door boss once each week will award a book. Ppl can argue that then you could get the gear without beating the whole fight, but 8 weeks of part 2 prog to get a chest seems fine to me if the group is unable to clear part 2, but also encourages part 2 clears because you can get that piece extra fast even with bad luck

Yep, my group disbanded. We saw p8sp2 enrage 4 times, so props to everyone who has managed to stick together through all this. Really sucks indeed the gear for such a tedious fight

@@renjiabarai8470 it is insane that PLD is so far behind the other tanks, only 3 clears while WAR at least has 12. A little confusing because according to fflogs WAR is equivalent to GNB and DRK as far as dps in those 12 clears goes while PLD is way noticeably behind in their 3.

@@lolRNG Same crap went through my static as well, we gone from SAM getting small preferential treatment to entire party buff the SAM, full on DNC/SMN/DRG buff SAM vip, but it works, and we got through DPS checks now.

Not specifically, just that the dps check in p8s is so tight that the 2 or 3% between tank Damage makes the difference

cmon Xeno youre a top world raiding level player, people on that level have always used the mathematically optimal comp not just in FF but pretty much as long as cutting edge raiding has existed in MMOs even if the dps difference was only minimal like 1%. Not saying they shouldnt try to buff WAR and MCH damage a little bit to maybe narrow the gap by half, but I'm also worried that they'll overcorrect and make the savage checks too loose in later tiers which even for me as a mid-core player who clears savage on week 3-4 would be a shame

There are so many raiders who want to do Savage but can’t because of anxiety or lack of social networking. They see BiS as something greater. You all spit on those people’s plight. Clear for 1 Savage prog never happens. This hurts and doesn’t help. But congrats
