A short clip on operating the M1917's Rear Sight Assembly. Originally the Hythe assembly on the British Pattern 1913 and 1914 Rifles it was incorporated into the design for the M1917 Rifle. Unlike the Hythe rear sight the leaf on the M1917 is graduated from 200 to 1,600 yards (50 yards short of the Pattern 1913/14). The M1917 Rear Sight Assembly CANNOT be adjusted for windage; adjustment for windage can be made by "Kentucky Windage" or by tapping, to the left or right, the front sight post, which sits in a dovetail within the Front Sight Carrier.
