Excellent tutorials. Easy to follow. I'm doing it on Unreal Engine 5.2 and it is working fine. I would recommend them for anyone new to Unreal Engine or who wants to learn how to create building parts that snap together. I'm also learning a lot about the engine as I go through them. I'm up through video 13 in this series and plan to finish them all.

I think configuring different walls inside one BP is fine for showcasing, but this way you can place a wall or a window in a wall where they don't belong. Like DoorWall and WindowWall can inherit the BasicWall class and add new collisions on top of them. This way you also won't have to use the SetMesh on all other Blueprints to avoid runtime errors.

I fixed the collision pivot issues by adding another mesh, thats for where the thing gets spawned, and the coliisions can now just be positioned where ever i want

Bro Great video's I've learned a lot through this. It helped me become more familiar with structs and interfaces as well as Data Tables which I haven't used much up to this point. Looking forward to seeing the next release in this series.

Bro, it s amazing, definitely the best building series i ve found. Just would like to share a bug i think. When you try to correct the different walls over each other at the same position. I think changing the collision box extent Y to 1 will not change the problem. It works if you have a wall, but if you linetrace thourgh a the door or window, it still try to snape a new wall at the position of the DoorWall or DoorWindow. Hope i explain myself clear enough :p I don t have solution unfortunately, but this is what i m facing on my version.

Great series btw. I have a problem. The wall doors and wall windows are using the wall's materials. Any idea how I can fix this?
@ItsMeBro2 жыл бұрын
If you provide the correct materials for static meshes. So they have the correct one by default, it should work just fine.

Mine are doing the same :( not sure why ? It's like the UV's have been rotated or something. I have all the project assets and have done nothing but what the videos have said to do, i did notice whilst looking around the folders that they is no M_Glass Texture for the windows, not sure if this is an oversight as i know setting up a series like this is extremly hard to do, but other than that Iam Really learning a lot from this THANK YOU.

I don't know whats going wrong but I went from previous video to this one and now my material doesn't change anymore. I work with two models, one is a transparent version and as soon as you place it, it places the actual model with nanite activated. But now it just places the transparent model instead this only happens with the walls (wall, wall with door frame and wall with window frame) but not the actual window, door, floor or foundation they are all okay... What is happening :(

You don't have the glass material in your buildingassets.rar download.

7:06 Thats exactly the problem I keep facing, what if your objects are too small so that extending the box is not an option? could we make a custom collision object and use it instead of a collision box, I looked all over the internet for it and no one seems to mention it, if you have a solution for this problem that would really be helpful.

I'm having the same problem. Did you find a solution?

the glass of the window seems like only rendering one face🧐

Make the material two sided. It's a one sided plane, that's why it can do that.
