Whoa, this takes me back. UFO during this era of the mid 70s was one of the biggest bands in the world. A lot of great tunes from these guys. Thanks for the reaction Dani.

The vulnerability mixed with power, and the spookiness, make this song the classic it is. Phil Mogg is a paradox. He used to do boxing and can handle himself, but he was never afraid to show lyrical tenderness. Out in the Street and Lonely Heart have this same mix of toughness and sensitivity. UFO were always a very classy band.

Great reaction, Dani! Thanks! I loved it! The guitarist was the great Michael Schenker, who was the original lead guitarist for The Scorpions on their first album in 1972 at the age of 16, so when he joined UFO, he was only about 18, I think. A great classic song, with a great singer, a great lead guitarist, and great song writing.

Paul Raymond played this style of piano in many of UFO’s ballads. It’s beautiful!

Wow, you are getting adventurous now! UFO has been one of my favorite bands since we stumbled into their album Phenomenon with new lead guitarist Michael Schenker in 1974. He left the Scorpions and became an instant sensation with them, they produced 5 classic albums from 1974 to 1978 with Michael before he left for his own band, MSG. This era culminated in the classic live album, Strangers in the Night, which shows up in top10 live album lists and is one of the best ever, they were on fire on it, try Too Hot To Handle from it for a high energy rocker. Thanks for trying them, they have tons of great songs to react to! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

I was and still am a huge fan of UFO's music especially Phil's Singing, been one of my favs since the 70 's. At his age Phil is a little fragile now but he still sings this...... Still got the double live LP I bought in the 80's!.

You bet, Michael Schenker is a God in the hard Rock/Metal community, try his legendary journey on Rock Bottom from Strangers in the Night Live, one of the best guitar solos ever, not shredding for the most part but an utterly fluid style of one amazing run after another, he can not only play fast but with feeling and a unique tone all his own. He can bang with the best or play ballads that make you cry. Enjoy!

I always like to inform new listeners to UFO that when choosing a version of a song to listen/react to, if the song happens to be on their live album “Strangers In The Night” then go with that one. This song on that live album in incredible and the energy of both the band and the crowd and hearing the crowd, also the guitar solo is much better.

Paul Raymond, Pete Way, and Michael Schenker wrote the music/songs and then would give them to Phil Mogg who would then write the lyrics. Pretty crazy!

Great to hear someone reacting to UFO. They don’t get enough credit. One of the greatest and most enduring British rock bands. Phil Mogg was one of the best rock vocalists around and a superb lyricist. One of his favourite themes was life on the streets. Awesome suggestions, those are great tunes! Phil Mogg is criminally underrated as the singer, songwriter, frontman and founder of UFO, the only continuous member from 1974 - until recently, as retirement finally beckons and they have lost core members in the past few years. For me and the people I hung with back then, UFO was one of the very best bands in rock and should have been way bigger, they were as good as all but a few bands in those days. She should explore more of their songs, she and her fans get to see a great band, unheard on most radio in the past century but gaining younger fans in this one, they just need to hear them, case closed.

The piano over the top sets the perfect Mellon Collie feel to this song. Michael Schenker is an exceptional guitarist whose work overshadows that of his older brother Rudolph. UFO is a progressive hard rock band that deserves much more attention than it gets.
