Interesting fact, the head of SBU who gives the interview has the last name "Malyuk" which means "Baby" in Ukrainian. And the SBU sea drone is... Sea Baby to make it more hillarious. SBU is launching the sea robot version of their chief towards Russian sea targets

That bridge apparently has insane defense both above and under water. That's why it was such a huge thing when they blew it upp with a truck. The fact that Ukraine can get a drone through after the first attack is incredible. As for the Elon comment, he shut down Starlink just as Ukraine was about to attack the russian navy outside Crimea last year.

actually, everything is simple.. the Ukrainian army is constantly introducing some new technologies, and Russia acts according to the templates of the Soviet army.. look at the faces of those who lead the Russian army, the Russian generals - they are all alcoholics for 60-70 years.. - How do they know about the existence of drones and artificial intelligence? they think that 5 huge ships will arrive and this is “reliable protection”, or they will send a column of 120 tanks to attack and everything will be fine.. - in fact, it doesn’t work like that today

For the first one, they impersonated a company that had gone out of business in Russia, they smuggled the explosives in to occupied Ukraine, & hired a Russian haulier to deliver a giant load of cargo to Crimea. Lorry turned up, the Ukrainian Special Services guys loaded the 15 tonnes of explosives onto his 18 wheeler & sent him on his way all the way into & through Russia & then round & onto the Kerch bridge. Then the SBU pushed the button when he was half way across...

Regarding your question, why does a drone operator need to know the silhouettes of ships - I answer, these drones are not only used to destroy the bridge, they were also used to sink or damage the Black Sea Fleet, it is thanks to them that the Black Sea Fleet is no longer in Crimea, but has been relocated to occupied Georgia.
@dalekcat

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon, 1805. He actually said "false move" (Diversion), but a diversion that is not taken as bait is a waste of resources, so the wording was slightly changed years later to be more broad. Napoleon used to use diversions in all his battles, he was a master at deception and propaganda. However, one of his Enemies started to know his techniques very well and started to adhere to his very saying, it was used against him at Waterloo. He kept trying to lure the British to the flanks or out of their cover... they did not budge... except the British Calvary, who directly disobeyed Wellingtons order and charged... they got slaughtered. Fortunately all the other units adhered to the order and it proved to be the deciding factor in victory for the British and Allies.

@CAC This is something that happened in 2023 so its not a new strike but I do like your POV and as someone who has the background you have I bet it's interesting to see how other countries fight & try to breakdown or understand it from a tactical standpoint and compare it to how we do things. Though you might be Army now you will always be a Devil Dog thats something earned not issued even if you were a POG still a brother lol SF & even though this video is old content is great- from a former 0331 Lastly I wanted to add i believe before the strike on the bridge the sea drones were used to destroy Russian Naval HVT's like they damaged and or sunk naval vessels with this platform. Also I forget where I saw it but these are among many things that Western countries are keeping an eye on & who knows maybe the dod will buy one at minimum to reverse engineer or where its effective buy outright and money provided helps both countries. What many don't understand a good majority of aid packages technically helps us out because for example the armory in PA that makes the 155 shell to the other one puts the magic stuff in it so not all of aid money goes directly to these other countries directly it goes to manufacturing of said items. Yes some ends up there for items we can't provide or cheaper there or in pockets (corruption happens everywhere though its a whole different scale but it's why you have friends in supply or put $$ in a maybe dirty item going back to the armory or thats what I heard ha) On the subject of aid something that I don't understand is we have sites like Govt Planet that takes surplus goods and sells to civys like few months ago i saw a pallet of the older ECWS being sold for pennies compared to original cost why we don't send them things like this. The person that i gave my thermals to had them for numerous yrs(i can't fit in old stuff grew a little in 20+yrs) I may still have a sleeping bag system. Its just something that crossed my mind we have a huge surplus of stuff why not donate it crap i have even seen first gen EOD robots on auctions & they sold for cheap though they didn't come with batteries even those would be better than attaching rope and pulling from a distance.
