@@RainCloud848 i said free speech, not free wandering. But if they can't ride they're horses without trampling people then they shouldn't ride them. Bravo Officers, way to go. Please allow me in my humble way to suggest to paint yellow lines around the perimeters of the King's Horse Guards prohibiting anyone from standing inside them. A signboard making it clear that no one is allowed inside these lines and that violators could be arrested and prosecuted would also be a goos idea. I am at great pains whenever I see such disrespectful behaviour by some tourists, little do they know (or do they really care) that these guards are highly trained professionals and part of the British Armed Forces Jewels and that they are doing their job, consequently they would be a lot happier if such idiots would stop pestering them during the execution of their work. Please kindly put an end to such irresponsible behaviour, thank you.

I see the horses chomping at the bit quite often... are they in pain? Does the bit taste bad?
@weemac4645Ай бұрын
Try it and see if you like it.
@user-us9rv8yw3s24 күн бұрын
The horse wears a double bit with one bar lower than the other, and the bar on top has a spade on it to keep the horse's tongue from going over the bars. When the reins are pulled hard, the spade hits the roof of the horse's mouth which in turn tightens the chain underneath the horse's chin. It aids the rider in controlling them but can cause severe pain. The bars can also pinch the tongue and sides of the mouth and press the gums against the jawbone which can also be very painful. This is one of the reasons why they almost always appear agitated and having problems with the bit.
@melexall113320 күн бұрын
I'm fed up with all these so called experts who know nothing about the kings horses. The bits they use are not the ones described in the comments. There is a video about the kings horses and Guards available that shows behind the scenes in detail, interesting and informative.
@lulusbackintown147818 күн бұрын
I would never approach a horse unknown to me so quickly and get so close. Although these horses are well trained they still have their own instincts and a horse as a prey animal has the instinct to run away and also to kick and bite if it feels threatened I do think it would help if visitors were made aware of why they are being moved and where exactly they can stand if they go through the gates. Unfortunately many of the hat men seem to believe they are above the law. They seem to cause many problems at horse guards.

Sadly, it had to do with the changing of the guards, than the policeman being fed up with tourists. (the title was just clickbait) Because otherwise the tourists would be put in their place much more often and the guards and horses could go about their duties in a much more relaxed manner without being constantly harassed. Because as you can clearly see, as soon as the changing of the guard is complete, the police fade into the background and the tourists can do whatever they want again, unfortunately.

@shirleyanneyoung955Ай бұрын
The horses are changed every hour, the gatesman and chitsman are changed every 2 hours. Gatesman is the guard who stands nearest to the stall selling touristy items and marches out to check the boxmen (the guards on the horses in the “boxes”) and sometimes marches up the tunnel to the parade ground at the back, the chitsman is the guard at the other side traditionally guarding the door (on the chitsman’s right) which leads to a huge hall used for cockfighting, frequently attended by the monarch of the time (usually male). Obviously this hasn’t happened for many, many years now and the hall is rumoured to be very creepy and understandably rarely used except for storage. I apologise if you already know all this but if not I thought you might find it interesting.

@KiKatebn639 They do NOT stand there for a ‘solid 2/3 hours! Where did you get that from?They are there for ONE repeat ONE hour. If the horse decides he has had enough inside that time, he will be taken back to his stable! The welfare of the horse is the most important, and the horse and rider are checked at regular intervals by the Gatesman and Corporal of horse! They also have regular holidays by the sea, and you can see wonderful pics of them ‘playing’ on the beach! They are all in really good condition as you can see by their coats. If you regularly see this channel and others like it, why people still think the horses stand there for any length of time, is beyond me---!
