Far far back there was a CEO for Hudson News. I worked for the company at the time. Specifically I was a bookstore employee. In the episode the CEO is all like, "we will get a new system, this is too hard, blah blah blah." 3 years after the episode I'm still working there and there was no new system, just the torture device that we were supposed to use to find books. So I feel like the majority of this show is bullshit.

@@graysonoliver2632I often wondered about that when all the money was being handed out. How much of it is just for the camera. If there was no show and one of these employees had contacted the boss and said I have all these problems, can the the company help, would they have got the help, if they did, would it have been anywhere near the amounts given on the show or, more likely, would they have just been told to go away and stop moaning? I highly suspect it would have been the latter. I have a feeling so much of it is just to look good on TV.

Here's a MIND BLOWING THEORY... As a director of many employees.. provide MANDATORY management training for managers and offer it to anyone that is on the "track". Yeah, I have a feeling the boss chose a different person to handle who to hire etc. after that. 19 years old, no training and the only training he's had is from TV shows? Yeah, that's a disaster in and of itself. Dude is super young and if he listened to the training I bet he's a much better manager now. This sort of thing is definitely not something you want to cheap out on if you own a business and want it to go well in the long run.

Watching Undercover Bosses, it’s sobering to see that almost every episode has people who are struggling in their own lives and really trying to make it through. When any of us visit a restaurant, we should realize that the people we come in contact with may well be on a difficult path and we should try to be a nicer person to deal with.

First, why is a 19 year old and it’s his second job ever, a manager?? That’s crazy IMO. That’s like in the military, putting a private that just got out of basic training in charge of a platoon of soldiers who probably have more maturity and experience than he does! They should have offered him the training before he took over as a manager. I hope he’s successful!!

It happens all the time at places like Menards hardware. So you're trying to make some extra scratch. Then they kill your soul by putting a 19-year-old in charge of your department who's been there 6 months longer. A 20-year-old manager would be best you can hope for at Menards

MY guess would be that manager left and perhaps the 19 y/o was the longest standing employee at that point and so was appointed. It's likely that the manager before the 19 y/o was also toxic and he just picked up on the way that manager behaved with everyone.

Naw.... I ran 2 really big restaurants in a hotel and had a 16 year old girl that was better at everyone else's job than they were. She was not even a waitress but a host, but she easily ran the show and I could tend to the other restaurant in the same building. And this was a restaurant that generates $3 million in sales per year. I would even let her handle customer complaints and when they asked to speak to the manager, I would have no problem just standing there and letting her deal with it. When the customer would turn to me to see if I would agree, I was always fine with how she dealt with things. In fact, we have a world class chef running the line for both venues and he respects her and checks in with her that everything is fine. It is bonkers to see.

As a former employee of Moe's I wished that Paul Damico could visited the restaurant that I used to work so He can witness with His own eyes all the negatively of environment the place is being run by, also no benefits, no free meals, no breaks even for the minors that by law needs to take a break if they work over 5 hours, uff is a lot to tell but even nowadays these kids don't give you the "Welcome to Moe's" like they are supposed to, there's a lot of drama behind the back of the line, but that is just the store plus the others things but if Paul was upset with that supervisor from FL, He will be furious if He meets the management running the store where I used to work.

It's the common mistake younger managers make is to think that you need to be the big dog among the pack. They weren't taking him seriously because he was young, fresh out of highschool, the answer was to show them he's up to the task, not run them into the dirt. If you cave to the criticism your employees give you by becoming aggressive and a hard ass, you're basically showing them exactly why they didn't want to show you respect. Because you caved to pressure. If Tito had kept his cool and just kept doing his job as manager, he would have won their respect eventually and had a healthy working environment.

What makes me so sad is seeing how little the employees of these companies are paid in the first place while companies seem to think that any CEO is worth millions every year. The reality is companies that pay their CEO, a realistic amount of money and pay their employees extremely well tend to be extremely strong companies, profit just isn’t everything , you take care of your employees, and rely on them to take care of your customer

When everybody has to yell, "WELCOME TO MOE'S!!!" it increases the chances of the prep guys accidentally spitting on the food ten-fold. Bad idea. If I heard that, I'd turn around and leave immediately. This manager is a big fish in a little pond. Sometimes that "power" goes right to peoples' heads. He needs a slice of humble pie.
@ellensunden2778
@ellensunden2778 7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree. Sometimes, big bosses and CEO's are a little out of touch when it comes to what customers want. At a former retail job I had, we had to greet every customer, every time...as well as tell them that we'll "see you tomorrow!" I only said that once...the customer was so freaked out and demanded to know why I was greeting her and what I meant by "see you tomorrow!" She was in my face and got her phone out and began to record me as she berated me. Never again... And most customers don't want to be greeted and are very rude when given a friendly greeting. I can't count the number of times I smiled and greeted a customer, only to have them give me a scowl and flip me the bird. And I was just doing what I was told!

I cannot count how many times people are tossed into a job SEVERELY unprepared. My second day training to be a shift leader, the assistant manager sucked her teeth, said “you in charge.” And then went to play on the computer in the office. Then the actual manager got ticked at me not doing anything except keep an eye on coffees. I was like “I was hired from a coffee house! This is my first week on the job. All I know is coffee at this point in time!” At the coffee house, I was close to being a store manager which was why I was hired as a shift leader. It was supposed to be a starting point. No one took me seriously because of that, but the one time I stood up for myself I got reprimanded.
