Btw, fear avoidant can also be driven by fear of abandonment. I am fear avoidant (sometimes turned anxious) and I have fear of abandonment. But this was only brought out when I became attached to a guy. Before, I was unattached and indifferent. Fear avoidant is probably a coping style to avoid close intimacy and the fear of abandonment that could come. So we don't attach because we can't manage those potential hard emotions. And yes it's true that our emotional weaknesses were used against in childhood. Having some emotions is not safe. It means that people will leave you when they see the ugly sides of you. I don't even cry when a relationship ends. I was like "thank you....next". Honestly, I didn't even realise that it was an issue/a thing until recently. I thought it was just some peoples personality type to move on quickly while others "moped" I only discovered any of this when I started dating a guy that I presume is anxious attachment because he used to always say that he was afraid of losing me? I was kind of unattached and indifferent at the time. I used to low key laugh at guys that were too needy. But then....when he pulled away *I* became the over attached and needy one. So I don't know what happened there?! Also, is there any difference between dismissive avoidant vs emotionally available? I once developed feelings for a guy that I suspect is this and I think they are even "worse" than fearful avoidants because when I half complained about us not spending much time together he literally said I can take it or leave it. 100 percent indifference. And the amount of time I was referring to was not a needy amount but only fearful avoidant type amount lol. Dismissive avoidants can take or leave you.... They will pretty much sh@t on intimacy but us fearfuls want it so much much but don't trust it

You will feel better, on day 58 of nc and just have a take it if it comes or leave it if they move. Went you want to date again you'll know. Also if they come back great! Just flow 😌

What if someone's kind of a mix of an avoidant/anxious attachment style? Also, say an avoidant gets into a new relationship around e months after leaving and it's "serious"....are the chances of that working out or them coming back higher or lower? Generally speaking?

My ex and I are sleeping together and seeing each other everyday and tossing around the word I love you. im 37 and my ex is 35 and we was in a 11 year relationship. we spilt up a 1 1\2 ago when i left our home but in that time we was sleeping together and getting on very well. we also have a 5yo son. before we split up she got a new social life with a bunch of single mothers that we already knew but would be good for her and our son to have little friends! so a 1 1\2 go by being spilt up but seeing each other and getting on well. the last time we slept together was the 12th of dec and on the 16th she said we need to stop and went cold! my world turned up side and it was the first time i realised id lost everything! anyway 2 weeks go by and i got it out of her that she's talking to someone else! ive truly seen my errors and can see hers but she's not interested because of the new stuff she's feeling even tho at this point she's probably only meet him once, she's really isn't the type of girl to be sleeping around that's why i fear she's really looking at the new guy as a serious mate! i think she's a FEARFUL AVOIDANT! she's turned so cold she's unrecognisable. since that time ive worked on myself by hitting the gym and actually feel loads better apart from this nightmare im living in! what's my chances of getting her back?
