Unigine 2 Free Community Edition Introduction

Unigine 2.11 has a free community edition now. You can use it for free if your revenue is less than 100K in the last 12 months.
I show in this video how to get started with the Unigine engine, how to download and install it. Then we dive into a c# third person platformer demo project in which you can see the Unigine editor and a C# script (component) in the default code editor (Visual Studio Code, VS code).

Defy interested in learning what's this engine capable of. Ui, navmesh, particle system, audio and physics are few things which I'd love to see.

I glad that guys from my country (Russia, Siberia) make such engine. I see that they use Qt C++ and OpenGL for making the engine.

Tried this. It has a long way to go for game dev. Basic stuffs like retargeting manager, Animation Controller etc are not present.

I feel the cpp coding method in this engine is too verbose, I'm not sure, what you think Jayanam ? Is cpp worth the pain in this engine ? what do you prefer ?

It depends on the quality of the API, and this one seems to be very good. Im a Cpp programmer for about 20 years and I think Cpp is one of the best languages ever. I will come up with a tutorial for this engine.

it's not meant for mobile games. At least for now it's for HQ only.

It is more for simulation, you need very high end to run, it is chugging resources like crazy, you also need to know how to program in full C++, c# is only for building components. Mobile games stick with Unity best choice.

Coding your own game.. is easier than you think.. you know, you should take that Unity class from Udemy.. I see this AD every time I watch a video.. just kidding.. is this community version very limited in features..as far as terrain creation.. you can't create terrain.. only available in SIM or Engineer version.. terrain is one of the nice feature in this engine.. but too bad... not available..

Who do you insecure open-sourcelets always bring up your beloved software even when a video is not about them? Unigine's graphical capabilities and performance are way WAY superior to Godot's. Unigine is also 100% free, only the advanced sim featuress you (or any game dev) would never need require the paid version.

very expensive for devellopers !! not a real good choice, comparated to Unity (0 euros under 100k) unreal engine (small % per sell), let see in future, because their software are good, but for game ?? not sure.
