When I heard that this movie involves animals turning into humans, I knew it would be completely ridiculous and quirky. Honestly, that’s not my usual movie genre preference but I was so curious to see how Justin Chatwin and Steve Howey would pull it off (huge Shameless fan here!) Nonetheless, they absolutely killed it. I have never seen humans embody the traits of a cat and dog so spot on. Not only was the accuracy hilarious, but there was even a charming premise of love, trust, and friendship behind the story. Overall, Unleashed was a light-hearted, comical, quirky, lovable film that I would recommend to anyone.

UGH im so conflicted i was so weirded out by this movie with the bad cgi and shit but then that one scene with the "dog" and "cat" on the bike... and the stopmotion animation.... really got to me? like why couldn't this movie just be about a cat and a dog who magically turned human but still stick together or something idk!! the whole love story thing kinda ruins it

Unleashed is a light-hearted indie film directed and written by Finn Taylor (writer of The Darwin Awards). In this film Emma, an app developer, undergoes a recent heartbreak and relocates to San Francisco with her two pets. Her unexpected wish brings to life her cat Ajax (Justin Chatwin) and dog Summit (Steve Howey). After a series of twists and turns her life is forever changed but in the end Emma’s outlook changes for the better. I really enjoyed how this film challenged my perspective on the valuable lessons animals can teach us. This quirky comedy teaches us a thing or two about the meaning of friendships and love via the help of our furry friends.

I went to a Garfunkel & Oates show in SF one time and Justin Chatwin was there. I talked to him a bit and he said he and Kate were filming a movie in Berkley. I guess this was the movie.
