I always thought the skills and builds were boring in D4, I still play D2R on and off and got some great new builds coming due to newly crafted runewords.

helltides are for early game and quick refreshes in between pits. After 50 I barely do them.

How am i supposed to find out that i shouldnt take critical damage past 300%? Build your whole build around crit and find out it doesn't work, ive honestly made more progress on my own build in poe than i have copying builds in d4, for any build to work every single stat has to be perfect and in the perfect spot. Should i tweak something and then hit the dummy to see my damage and then tweak another thing and check my damage over and over and over and over and over and over again?

Man some people just like to complain to complain. I’m having a blast in D4 season 4. Funny because content creators still farming clicks with D4 content and everyone is still watching…. A lot of people just love to be miserable. ✌️

Nah at this point I would not saying it is bad at this point. If it released at this state, the game would not be considered as such a meme. So many improvements are needed and so much more content is necessary, but I would not say it is bad anymore. I hope the game wont end up exactly like d3, while I like d3 as a game to blast for 2 days, it is not necessary to have 2 games like that.

I'm having fun so far, don't know how it'll hold up later though.

They just need more things to do and asap, leaderboards will def make season launches have like a sense of “urgency” just seeing who is in 1st and all. But also they need like delves/legion/expeditions things to also pop up instead of just dungeon spam and helltide. But I mean item changes were good just it’s crazy that the games almost 1 year old and still has little to it

How is there still no endgame after 4 seasons? It's the same dungeon and helltides and world boss spam. It doesn't matter how good they make the items if acquiring them is still boring

My problems is i am not excited when item drop on the ground its have 5 boring lines and this is it.

I will admit without saying any names there are streamers out there that almost convinced me to login. Its refreshing to hear Quin speak truth. Then I remembered the price tag and the state of the game on launch and how they used and abused live service to create the game. I won't be playing. D4 Bad.

Endgame is farming the zones. They need actual character progression, zone progression (maps), endgame bosses

Honestly the loot is soooooooooooo much better now but like Quin said, you spawn into the game and you're instantly doing something that is exactly the same as you'll be doing at level 100, the gear is gifted to you too god damn much, and the skill tree is still too boring to be even remotely interesting. It's such an on rails experience you get bored in minutes or hours at most.

I pretty much agree with what quin is saying... felt the same porting into HT and just like meh this is it? and that is absolutely not how any game should feel on S launches... HOWEVER.. (and a question for quin): Once I got to wt4 and started the new pit end game loop, I became addicted and am currently still playing. feels much better than D3's "mainstat and .01% gem ups".. the difference is the dopamine. we are now upgrading all of our items with RNG aspects, which is why it feels better. (yes pit could use work but huge step in right direction) question for quin: what level did you get to before quitting? did you have any goals in mind?(kill new lvl200 tormented boss, reach certain pit) or just doing it cause new league? I also have a feeling you were much more interested in witcher so thats also gonna be a factor of you not enjoying d4 at the time. would love to know your thoughts on the actual end game and not just leveling HT (cause yes that sucks but TBF HT does feel MUCH better, even too intense at times) because I agree having a dynamic leveling feels better (see d2, PoE) where you experience different areas etc.. not just spamming HT until 70 things like NMD dont feel as dreadful now since its not the ONLY thing to do, and glyph xp much better

Loot was not really a problem if they have enough skill mechanics to interact with it before S4. Now, items and skills are both dumbed down. They even refuse to talk about changes in the skill tree because they want to keep it in an entry level of understanding.

Water being less wet than it used to be does not mean its not water anymore

Got to 92 or so on my bow rogue. Realized that none of the uniques are going to change the play style at all, and the only thing that was left is to barely upgrade my current legendary gear to be a little better of the same. At that point I was like.... yea this is not it. Maybe for other classes the hunt for uniques make a big difference and can spice the game up, but for ranged rogue... nope. Just legendaries, and the only upgrade is the same legendaries with the same attribute, but maybe a few nicks higher.. lame.

i was literally the same when i teleported to the helltide i instantly felt like what the fuck am i doing with my life

Between the repetitive and obnoxious behavior of helltides (collect 3 stones -> spawn the same 1 boss with no variation, and can't stop for 5 sec without mobs spawning on you), seeing things like +150% damage to Blizzard as a tempered affix, and still having what feels like an invisible global cooldown after casting Firewall, I feel like nothing has honestly changed in the last year. And you still have to grind renown every season for paragon points.

The sweats and dads are loving it. Braindead blasting from the start watching green numbers go higher

I think they fucked up the sense of progression too hard while trying to catch casual audience. Level 50 gameplay feels essentially the same as 100 hour gameplay...

i really think that they made the big mistake that they continue the story only with the Addon. The Campaign was really fun and we all hoped that the season would expand on that but they do not and that the gameplay is still so "bad" just kills the joy even for casuals like me. Yeah items are now way better but i will not put more money in that game

glad I'm not the only one that feels the game is just boring, combat doesn't feel engaging. IDK why but it is. Itemization was never the issue for me.

They want us to reset a 5 second dungeon just till kill the summon bosses over and over because we have 350 living steel etc...game is easy until you hit the torment boss wall with its debuff timer...ridiculous...took away the use of yellows..and ruined the flavor text yellows that could have been a real farm for players to find specific items...

Everytime there's a new season, you will need to run and complete all those dungeons again which is hilarious.

It's better, but the game is just a helltide simulator now, which is fun for an hour of two, but then has absolutely none of the depth that makes something like poe great. Gameplay gets stale fast, classes are the same as in s0/s1 and it still felt like the same game I already played. D4 streams are also insanely boring, because there's no crafting cool items or creating interesting builds.

The skill tree/paragon needs a rework, and they need to keep adding activities and fun shit to do. They need to stop deleting seasonal activities. There's need to be a ton of variety. If I was Blizzard, I would add AoZ and vaults back into the game with new things to earn.

What they should have done with tempering, is to allow the players to select the affixes they want and not an auto-tempering.

They need to make leaderboards for the pit, asap. The gauntlet is shit. They fucking rush you to the end game in literary hours and at the end game you have nothing to do.

If only blizz had a backlog of 20years of gaming to look back on to take inspiration from. That could have been a huge benefit for them. But unfortunately, that just isn't the case. I mean... it's not like blizzard is very experienced when it comes to ARPG games. Cut them some slack

Replayability of games comes from dynamic gameplay where it doesn’t matter if you know the end result, you won’t know exactly how you will get there. Like Poe or Rust. I know I want to do the campaign and kill ubers eventually but inbetween there’s a lot of variables. Same with rust, you know what the endgame looks like but the pvp is so dynamic it’s never the same. In D4 the builds are all too simple, gearing is too simple, just a mid game

From my 32 hours in the new season: The game is, was, and probably will be for a long time very shallow. There is still no real end game if you don't want any uniques. Real sense of progression ended once I hit level 100 and got the items I wanted. 24 hours playtime. The loot is different. Yeah. It's just different. Sometimes exciting when you get a * on a legendary. Better stats yes. When you stop getting overstimulated by all the drops and mobs spawning and you do harder and more challenging content: The game plays sink the boat with you. 10 Elites spawning ground explosions + extras. + Nightmare dungeon modifier that also spawns ground explosions :). In very small and long corridors. Okay let me take the loot. Oh no still some green explosion charging for 3 fckng seconds after everything is killed. Dead. Dead again. By what? Who tf knows if it feels like everything is like the same color with different gradient. Very fun to progress with friends. You can do the same content and have to same goals very easily and quickly. Game looks great. Personalization is good too. That's about it. The game is shallow. It's like it was build by a narcicist. It has no real soul in my opinion.

The current season theme is focused on fixing the early access game. What are we tempering items for? Everything dies in seconds, including ubers. The game lacks balance, has no endgame, and the boss fights are atrocious. There are tons of bugs.

I can't stomach that every season will re-farm those materials just to get the uber uniques.

I think It's a little different from the perspective of streamers that play games, you guys can easily get burnt out from the repetitive nature. I play maybe 10 hours per week and can't wait to get back to helltide and destroy at the end of the night. At the end of the day, that's all it is and that's all it's ever been.

Whoever made Diablo 4 can't convince players to play. I don't think they fired the person responsible yet. The game is really boring from level 1 to 100.

That was exaclty the reason why i uninstalled the game yesterday. It feels like a complete waste of time since minute 10 or so. I really gave it a try till level 50.... No thanks, i am really looking forward to the new 7th D2 season end of may.

The pit is so sickening to play, when fighting the boss there's so many ground effects going on. Players are confused and sick of doing the pit. I don't know if players is fighting the actual boss or fighting a shadow.

Tbh. Couldn't disagree more. Also though, I didn't play since season 2. But I've been having a blast playing D4 again. The item changes are good, helltide is fun, pitt is fun, bossing is fun. It's not going to be like, my game for 6 months but I've been having fun for the last few days. I think it's good.

they decided to do the same thing as in d3. Instead of balancing skills, they simply added a lot of percentage damage, but this time they acted smarter and made these % craft mods -_- I no longer have hope for d4, although I REALLY love this universe

soon as you hit 100.. it is the same boring ass farm greater rift to upgrade gear slightly from D3.. this is basically D3 reborn... The leveling up was more fun.. end game sucks ass still.

When fighting higher tier boss in the pits, you will be dodging and evade all the times. There's so many ground and air effects going on around, and the one shot kill mechanics is so annoying.

I want to play the game, but I'm not paying $70 to play a game that isn't fun. Guess I'll wait out another season \_0_/

D4 has the best sounds and combat feel, but it’s a single player story game you beat once and then turn off. This seasonal model is very forced and doesn’t work for this game. At least not when the seasonal themes are smaller than Diablo 3

I felt that the last time I hit 'update' in the launcher. Just... There's nothing that draws me in, I hate "earn > spend" classes in general, and that's EVERY class in D4, on TOP of CDs. 😕All the fun about the classes feels throttled and artificially held back. Nothing there, still have my "season token", might never use it. Loot rework is a partial fix to a portion of the game, but they also need to drop their obsession with "no, you shall earn the privilege of using your 'fun' abilities, you cannot just use them, fxxx you". If they rework the classes to handle resources differently/thematically instead of the one-resource-earner-to-fit-all approach? Maybe.

The reason why other big streamers "love" D4 is because they have to. They have literally streamed 8 hours of D4 a week before S4 lauch just going through every miniscule change/update. They HAVE to like the game to not feel stupid. I havnt touched D4 since S2 and even that was for a couple nights and i can see where Quin is coming from. What fun is a game that you spawn in, click an NPC to teleport and then do the thing your going to be doing all the way to lvl 100 within 5 minutes of spawning in. Boring ass game.

I like how he says this but when I look back to his PoE streams it's basically the same shit, every season he logs in and just does campaign and 9/10 times he doesn't even engage with the new league mechanic till maps, nothing exciting during campaign in PoE either according to his POV.

"Why am I doing this?" within a few minutes of login. This won't change. Next league, no matter what they add, you'll ask yourself why you're doing this right after you start playing. Quin, the monetization is a huge deal here. They already have your money and no incentive to make the game better. POE starts out giving you their game for free and only has the expectation of getting money if the game is good, and you feel like giving it to them. The business strats are completely inverse. POE gambled on making a good game and they have. The sad thing is I'm not sure they made more money. Bottom line is pay after you're fairly convinced the game isn't a complete AAA dogshit money grab. Don't play on launch, that's for fomo's. Let the shit soak in the toilet for a few days. Most of the AAA turds will sink.

Even for casual D4 feels way too easy and boring, the basic player power comes too fast, masterwork is ultra mid. Nightmare dungeons are still extremely boring. The pit is basically greater rifts from D3 except you can't level up your "glyphs". I gave up farming pit and masterworking midway when I realized the pit is just MUCH better to farm with group. Just like D3 greater rifts were before they finally listened and reworked followers to add at least some benefits to solo players. D4 has NONE, you are just at disadvantage while solo. Big example goes to Last Epooh for giving solo players some sort of advantage. It's almost as they have learned nothing from D3 - quite literally nothing in 10 or so seasons we will finally see some form of solo player buffs to make up for large gaps between group vs. solo. I'm more hopeful for Last Epoch being the rising star vs. D4 now - this game franchise just cannot learn from past mistakes.
