Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It is so helpful to those of us going through something similar, or considering it. I'm currently taking Buspar and am considering wellbutrin/zoloft, so I'm finding vlogs like yours extremely useful. I'm a new subscriber, so please keep making vids. Also, welcome to Portland!

Robert! Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I have also just started Wellbutrin for depression and extreme social anxiety, and your videos give me so much hope and relief. I can see how visibly healthier and confident you look. Congrats on becoming a nurse and I wish you the best in your new chapter of your life. Thank you ❤️

Thank YOU so so much For this amazing comment! 😌✨ I wish you all the very best in your mental health journey! Wellbutrin will not always, but can definitely cause a little anxiety. This effect will go away with some time so hang in there! If it wasn’t for the Buspar I think i would’ve had a considerably tougher time with it. Don’t forget to get your heart rate up (exercise) for 20-30 mins 3 times a week. This is so unbelievably important I can’t stress it enough. Ya dont have to do something crazy stressful, but somewhat rigorous and consistent, jogging, treadmill elliptical, bike, row machine, dance routine on KZfaq, cardio class…etc also get that sleep!! You got this!!! Sending you good vibes ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Hi Robert! Just found you! My first clip watched was when you had Covid, cooking salmon. You were encouraged that the meds were helping. Then I found this uplifting video…I want this! As an adult, I have battled depression, anxiety, and, in the last year, become a shut-in. I am getting the help I need, and now taking Zoloft and Buspirone. I am not currently taking Wellbutrin but have used it in the past with reasonable success. Maybe that is the link I am missing! Thank you for sharing…it gives me hope! And BEST WISHES TO YOU!

Ah man it’s nice to hear someone validate the low and slow philosophy with meds. I really think it’s the way to go. You can always add more but it’s hard to decrease once you pour tremendous amounts of brain chemicals in your system. Thank you for your comment✨ Much appreciated!!🙏✨

Thank you for your wellbutrin vids. It was very comforting to know what i was feeling was shared and to know what to expect in the future is also a great comfort. Thank you. Have you looked into an ADHD diagnosis? Did your cessation of adhd like symptoms ever resolve? love to you forever ( a week into taking buproprion btw) (Requiem for a Dream is the movie)
@robertmakesashow70894 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment!!🙏✨ I probably don’t have ADHD…probably! I think a lot of us probably just have so much stimulation on a daily basis (phones, sugary food, netflix, video games, porn) that our baseline requirement for stimulation (homeostasis) becomes so unbelievably high that doing something like sitting quietly and reading is incredibly difficult. I think consistent cardio and eating well probably did more for my focus than anything. With that being said, what few ADHD symptoms i had definitely benefited a bit from the medication. It’s basically easier to focus when you’re not stressed out. Thank you again!!✨ (and bonus points for getting the movie 🍿!)

@@robertmakesashow7089 OMG do! Your video where you talked about being a golden retriever that can pop into a ward room and brighten people's day seems very astute lol - I imagine that's what most patients get from you, if that's still what you're doing. Otherwise just like people around you. That's deffo the vibe I get from your videos. Though like no pressure to always present happy lol, that can be exhausting, I'm sure you're just as entertaining as a sardonic deadpan dude now and then too haha

Thanks for your videos! I started on Wellbutrin a few weeks ago (for add and depression) and I’m starting to feel more anxiety like my heart feels like dropping all the time In terms of anxiety, do you think the medicine has helped reshaped your anxious thoughts ? Or did it just make you feel less anxious, and the thoughts kinda gradually shifted as a result of feeling better. Thank you!
@robertmakesashow70894 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment!! The buspar did all the heavy lifting for my anxiety. The wellbutrin made the anxiety worse for a little bit but then that effect went away. I feel like the effect is that it kind of turned my mind off a bit, my brain doesn’t focus hard on anxious things but kinda drifts more instead of fixating. It didn’t exactly change my thoughts but the effects those thoughts had on my body lessened. I hope that makes sense! thanks again ✨

I been on buspar 10mg 3 times a day for 10+ years and now my anxiety is back and it’s getting so bad :( my dr added 25mg of Zoloft but I’m scared of too high serotonin levels. Because I read on the internet alot 😅
@robertmakesashow7089Ай бұрын
That is very smart of you to think about serotonin syndrome, (again i’m not a medical professional) but you don’t have to worry about that at all. 25mg is the lowest active dose prescribed and you’ve been on buspar for so long. Serotonin syndrome is pretty uncommon and will generally resolve in a day or two with no lasting side effects. I will say that starting an SSRI is a lot more difficult than starting Buspar and takes longer for your body to adjust. Zoloft made me sooooo tired for so long (recommended: take your dose at night) I think it took me at least a month before I started feeling like it was helping. But if you can stay strong and make it through the crappyness, it’s definitely something that I’m glad I got on. Stay strong 💪 ✨✨✨ You got this. also, be careful what you read on Reddit. During that first month or so when people are getting used to Zoloft and busbar and all these other drugs, they go on Reddit and complain how terrible it is, and it is terrible! But what you don’t see is that the same people after a month or so stop looking at those reddit post and just go about their lives because the drug is working for them. I was glued to those forums of people talking about their nightmare experiences with Zoloft all throughout the very first month or so, and it really freaked me out, but now that it’s working for me, I never go to those Reddit posts. I don’t need to complain anymore 😄. thanks for the comment. I wish you the very best of health!!!✨

Hey Rob Congrats on your success. Can you please give an update on your Anhedonia? How is your motivation and mental on that?
@robertmakesashow70894 ай бұрын
Anhedonia is definitely better but it took a long while. Anhedonia is a tricky one because, at least for me, it wasn’t exactly that I didn’t get joy in my interests, cuz i could watch anime all day and be satisfied, but its kinda like you don’t have the courage and resolve and energy to do things you want to do. A lot of that was just a life’s worth of anxiety weighing on my mind for years teaching me that the world is an anxiety ridden exhausting place. Once the anxiety was lifted a bit and i was able to experience life without the weight, my brain learned again what it liked to do and could act upon it without the same fear and self defeating perspective. Hope that made some sense. The meds helped me get some relief from the stress while my brain could retrain itself.
@DCarrVII4 ай бұрын
@@robertmakesashow7089 yeah for me its more brain fog and inability to concentrate and focus. My mind is constantly racing and right now I’m trying to figure out if its due to anxiety or adhd. Currently on Zoloft and it’s helping. Im back in the gym. But I’m not mentally where I used to be. Reason for me asking because I honestly thought it was due to anhedonia

Have you experienced any hair loss? I would like to try wellbutrin, but I am scared of hair loss.
@robertmakesashow70893 ай бұрын
I did experience some hair loss, but it was very minimal and now has stopped. I think my body just got used to the drug. I have heard though that if it is more hair loss and you’re comfortable with you can always stop the drug and it will simply grow back. For me, it was worth the risk! Thank you so much for the incredible comment. I appreciate you I wish you the best of health!!✨

@robertmakesashow708921 күн бұрын
I’m essentially on a baby aspirin level dose of my medication, the minimal effective dose. It’s nearly sub perceptual. I don’t intend to get off them any time soon but if I have to it won’t be as challenging. (thoughI don’t see the need to get off them) I think the reason these meds get a bad rap is because they are prescribed at sky high doses which is no fault of the patient but rather a lack of insight on behalf of the physician. I totally appreciate your input though, I’m sorry your tapering process is hellish😩
@Polecat-qz5om21 күн бұрын
@@robertmakesashow7089 yes I gained 30 pounds only been on celexa 4 months and Now it will take me two years to hyperbolic taper off :( everyone is different but I absolutely despise this drug. Glad it is working for you and I know alot of ppl who they work for but for me it has been a nightmare.
