Is it worth upgrading from a CPU that was released 3 years ago, the Ryzen 7 3800x to the last CPU that will be released for the now old AM4 socket, the Ryzen 7 5800x3D? In this video, I compare the 2 CPU's in Cinebench R20, Warzone 2, GTA 5, RPCS3 Motorstorm Pacific Rift, and lastly iRacing to see if it was worth it, or if I wasted my money...

*Update- @narfsc2657 in the comments pointed out that the GPU in the 5800x3D testing is running about 100MHz lower than the 3800x. After checking Afterburner, my power limit of 110% was somehow changed back to the default of 100%. It shouldn't really change the results other than the games running a couple fps better on average for the 5800x3D.
I tested at 4k to show what games are CPU or GPU bottlenecked so you can make a more informed decision based on the games you play. If the games you play are GPU bound, upgrading to a new CPU won't really benefit you and would be a waste of money. I recommend checking out this video by @GamersNexus on upgrading from a 2700x as it offers more comparisons between the different CPU's: • AMD Ryzen 7 2700X in 2...
