Thank you so much. Even in 10 years there's still hardly any English forearm crutches videos. But helped me a lot.

Thanks Worse part is this anxiety after surgery or so much pain before you realize it is broken that grown inside that almost stops you to move with any crutches for the first time Grat video And Cute plot description, " Ok I go down, turn back and smile" Thanks for the video again 🙂

Your video is fantastic. I nearly had another accident in ignorance. Your comments about the lack of instruction (on the web and elsewhere is spot on). Thanks for all your help. regards D.

Thank you for posting. 3 weeks after knee surgery and I'm anxious using my crutches on steps. I will be practising this technique later
@foothilldave8 жыл бұрын
I use this technique and generally works OK, but once I fell backwards - thankfully only two steps up. SO if you are scared or unable to do this technique another SAFER way is to sit on stairs (back towards the up stairs) and just scoot/sit one step at a time. There is a video from physicaltherapyvideo but link past not working for me.

good to see someone made a video on this subject, a week ago i feel on ice, totaly makeing a mess out if the bones in the right foot, had to have some pins in it, also had to have the bonse manipulated back into place. No standing or putting preasure on it for 12 weeks, not looking for the days ahead 😟. My problem is, i live in a narrow old house with stairs like the slope on a rollercoaster, also im quite a wide lad, i have a litte pancic attack and to add to it, my silly brain wants me to use the wrong legg every time, i have to stand with my crutches for a second just to calculat and remember... right foot sad, dont stand on that.

I want to thank you. I broke part of my leg and part of my foot this morning, and I have two flights of stairs in my house. I was so stressful going up and down them, and I got to the point where I was compromising the cast by walking on it just to get up and down. After watching this video, I kept your advice in mind, and I found it very helpful. I don't know how long I'll have to use these awful crutches, but I'm glad that (thanks to your advice) I can feel less endangered when doing so.

It must take lots of practice to be as good at this as you are. I was on crutches for two months last year with a broken bone in my foot and was fortunately allowed to put some weight on it; whenever I tried to get around without putting it on the ground I found it difficult to maintain my balance. It was also exhausting and made me realise just how unfit I was!

Broken ankle. At the moment I’m crawling up the stairs using my knees and sliding down on my bottom because I broke my dominant leg (right) and so I have a lot of anxiety about falling. Also there’s a ton of steps to get into my house so the first day I accidentally fell onto my injured side and with being in a no weight cast it was agony. I haven’t left the house and that was a few days ago. I get my proper cast at the end of the week so I have to face the steps

You poor bean! How are you doing.

Strawberry 1 in that comment i said at the end of the week I’d have a proper cast but when I went back I was told I’d need surgery. I had it on the Monday so I now have a rod and screw in my ankle :( I was in a splint for a while and then the cast and now I’m in a boot and I’m walking for the first time in 8 weeks. It hasn’t been fun. I can now climb stairs but I still can’t go down normally due to anxiety about falling. It’s been hellish and after 2 months it’s still healing and I have to have intense physiotherapy once I can walk without a boot/the aid of my crutches
