Good video. I've been reading a book "The Mountain Is You" and there was an interesting quote in the book. The point of life isn't trying to be happy all the time or to have the least amount of stress. Behind a goal of happiness lies unhappiness once you reach that goal. Because you will start looking for the next thing to make you happy. The point of life is to be able to live through the good days and the bad days with enough fluidity that you don't get stuck in your ways.
@plebisMaximus2 ай бұрын
So you're just supposed to live for no reason? Sounds a bit silly.
@malkimanmrhalloween19572 ай бұрын
@@plebisMaximus Ok maybe my choice of words weren't great. English is not my first language. What I'm trying to say is that trying to be happy all the time will only make you more miserable. Because once you expierence hardship or stress (which will always happen) you will think that you're failing in life because you're not happy anymore. That's what niko is saying in the video as well you need to learn to process and use the emotions that you feel to progress in your life. I'm not saying to not do things or buy things that make you happy. All i'm saying is there will be a point where you won't be able to do them anymore or maybe at one point in your life they will not make you happy anymore. What then? And btw it's not possible to live without reason. The fact that you exist is a reason in itself. You are not aware of the impact you have on the world for just being alive because you never think about it. Without you or any of us existing the world would not be the same.

Respect. From a young age, I was quite antisocial after an accident. But, I embraced it, I told myself I am way too shy and it's bad. Then, the blocks just fell in place by themselves. I was shy, I went out, did something embarassing, told myself that, that was embarassing and continued trucking on. Yeah, it worked.

Life gets stale real quick without it and you no longer feel very excited or accomplished about anything if you do not pursue stress. Find a balance of taking on stressful situations with relaxation and decompression so that you do not impact your health.

But how do I deal with a stressor where I don’t know the right decision? Where I know I will be judged and face friction from everyone around me for making the decision which causes more stress and anxiety, and makes me look like a hypocrite for wanting to do better for myself. But also know that not making the decision to conform and not go against the crowd will result in more self-guilt and anxiety?
@nikoyaps2 ай бұрын
You make the one that feels right to you and you only, sure you'll have to deal with the consequences of your actions later, but it beats being is this purgatory of stress until you make this inevitable decision anyway, best of luck!
@lp-hj4ih2 ай бұрын
@@nikoyaps thank you. I really, really, appreciate your response. Sometimes, some decisions feel akin to the saying: “damned if I do, damned if I don’t”. Where there is no clear answer. And I can’t 100% justify my decisions one way or the other. I want the freedom to make my own decisions and the freedom to change my mind on things. I just wish that I could do so without either the fear of either alienating the people around me who I love, or by increasing my self guilt and hate for not following through on a decision to avoid that friction. I hate the feeling of being a hypocrite. I hate conforming to avoid that friction. But I also hate the self-guilt that piles up when I choose to ignore my morals. I know I’m being vague but I am trying to avoid explicitly talking about my issue.

Thanks so much for the video :) The type of stress I'm going through right now feels mostly negative & unsolvable, but I still think the advice of facing it head-on is great. It helps to acknowledge it as a normal part of being human, rather than just hate that you're feeling it. If life was nothing but positive emotions & experiences then they wouldn't have any significance to us, they'd be empty. I think being stressed about something shows that it's significant to you, & despite the discomfort it brings, we're lucky to have things that matter to us enough to make us stressed! What is the point of life without that, anyway?

Honestly 2 years ago I became that average joe, that stresses about simple things. I did it to distract myself from other stress that consumes me. And yeah it did work. By stressing about simple things, you kinda forget about what really stresses you. Makes life really simple but at the price that you dont really have a personality. my personality was always overthinking everything, over delivering and being hard on myself. Now im just kinda lost in my 20s. The average joe personality was really good for being social and not having constant stress. while the my formally normal personality gets things done and commits but at the price of being stressed and introverted. So if you find some average joe stressing about simple things, hes probably just trying to be optimistic or start a conversation. You can spill him by saying the right words in the right order. heck you might even fix him. And im slowly finding my way.
