She was a really good villian who failed on everything she tried to do. I really enjoyed this drama.

You're right...she failed miserably. She couldn't do anything right.... You would think this dummy would give up but she deluded herself into believing she was smarter than everyone else. Her stupidity was astonishing

It feels like I've waited a long time for this moment. Lianfang was too busy celebrating her so called victory that she didn't even see the truth standing right in her face. She was so eager to believe that Lingyi's feelings for her changed so drastically. She never once thought to ask herself if it was all an illusion. If he didn't hate her before he certainly hates her now. She harmed his son/went after his wife. He got a glimpse of how his life would be without Shiyi. Every time I see this scene it reminds me of a phrase that Hannibal Smith used to say "I love it when a plan comes together"...lol throwback to the 80s television series The A Team. They worked brilliantly together. Lingyi didn't know all the details but he trusted Shiyi enough to follow her lead. Hats off to Lingyi because he had to maintain his composure while that little harpy was all over him. He had to pretend to care about the woman that caused so much pain to his wife/son. He did a great job because I would've strangled her...lol Lianfang's arrogance/obsession was her own downfall. Her face when she realized that Lingyi just witnessed everything that she had done was priceless. The best part was watching the GM reaction...lol She has to swallow her pride/admit that she was wrong about her favorite little pet. She spent all that time defending her/shielding her from punishment only to come face to face with reality. Lianfang played her like a fiddle. She made her look like a fool.

You are so right, those moments when he was just contemplating Shiyi not being there was so poignant. He was determined to get his wife back. Her brother is so underrated because he was willing to care about all of his sisters no matter what. Keeping that plan from his mother while she was ill takes courage. And the fact that Lianfang was played so perfectly while she's scheming so hard is wonderful!

@@arilu89x I love her brother. He was a rock for his sisters. It's a testament to his character that Shiyi would trust him with something so important. She doesn't even trust her own father...who is very useless at this point but she trusted her brother. He was Mr. Grace under pressure especially since he took such a huge risk by hiding it from his parents. His sisters were lucky to have him. Their father was weak...he never once stood up to his wife when it came to his daughters and concubines. He just allowed her to create havoc with impunity. Shiyi was the bright spot in Lingyi's life. She represented the life that he's always wanted...and now he had. He wasn't going to let his mother or Lianfang ruin it. Zhaoying knew how much Shiyi's presences changed him. He knows how much Lingyi needs her by his side. He just wanted to see Lingyi happy.

I totally agree. She was a horrible matriarch. She let her biases blind her from the truth. Lianfang did a lot of damage to the Xu family but she continued to overlook it. Whenever things involved Shiyi.. the old lady didn't waste any time to expel her from the family. If it wasn't for Shiyi the entire Xu family would have been destroyed by Lianfang and the GM'S stupidity.
