I’ve tried plug spinners on different cylinders with trap pins but with no joy, but now I’ve got the fully loaded Dino one I’m going to give it another go 👍🏻🔑

@@FortressLocksmiths I have had some success using a spinner and cut down key together. Don't always work but when it does it is much easier

I’ve tried the tension wrench method but even if it’s just slightly too thin the trap pins will spring, for the sake of it just file down any key that will fit and you’ve got 50% of the traps covered then 👍🏻🔑

Is it not just a case of getting something all the way into the keyhole (to catch and engage the cam) whenever you turn the barrel? So like, pick the pins, engage cam, rotate until 1st set of trap pins, pick them, catch cam again, rotate until last set of trap pins, pick them, catch cam and finish the rotation. Correct?

@@OvermindAlpha in principle yes but sometimes not that simple, for instance the Avocet ATK you just need to engage the cam once and then you can actually withdraw the tool and put a normal tension wrench and it will still rotate. The easiest way to pick up the cam on this (when it’s a thumbturn) will be to file down an original ERA Fortress key so it just rides over the pins but allows you to insert and withdraw at will and that should do it, in fact I will test out this theory tomorrow! In a normal cylinder it’s not a problem as you can rotate left and right until you catch the cam just right but obviously when there’s trap pins present it makes it more challenging

Err yeah, don’t try and bump an ATK they can’t be bumped, and if you did bump it you would get the key stuck in the trap pins
