Just wanted to say it’s been a pleasure to watch your development in terms of production quality as a KZfaqr. That’s not to say your early videos were bad, they were excellent I’m terms of subject matter and your way of explain I’m h things and communicating with the audience. But your progress in terms of look and feel of the videos has improved markedly and you’ve still got your own very satisfying style of presentation. Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them.

Looks like the body of that HKR lock _and the key_ are also made of steel - pretty cool. When selecting locks for my house I tend to balance the ability of the lock to keep miscreants out against the difficulty of getting myself inside if I happen to lose my keys. So I want something that resists common attacks, but I could still open non-destructively if I had my lock picks on me. If even a professional locksmith would struggle to get inside without damaging the door or breaking a window in the process, I tend to consider that overkill for domestic use e.g. Abloy... That HKR looks like it would have been an excellent choice though, nigh on indestructable but still pickable. On a related note, a thing that's often overlooked is that there are security door handles and escutcheons available, which will go some way to prevent drilling and snapping attacks by covering up the face of the lock with a steel housing and a spinner plate.

To be fair a drilling standard is Rotory tool with a Carbide milling bit. At his point hardend Metal is no problem at all. But I could imagine Carbide inserts in locks and or ceramics might work superior to add drilling resistance to a lock

Just heat the plate with a small torch first and then drill it, the heat will ruin the annealing

Not gonna lie. All of us hardened criminals watching here were really disappointed by around the 10m mark of your crime tutorial. Fellow thieves, do not be dissuaded by the apparent lack of ability in a Lock Noob's demonstration of how to steal the treasure within. He gets it eventually, and you, dear thieves, will get it, too. This is a lesson in perseverence and a cautionary tale to which all Grandmas of fine-gold jewellery should take heed! * Of course, I joke. Great video, as always, LN. XxX

As I have learnt to my cost with anti drill, anti pick hardened steel locks, if your lock stops working with the key, you will have to replace the whole door. That lock is NOT coming out.

The attacks are all high speed. This causes the metal to 'work harden'. To cut through this lock you need a good drill bit turning slowly and plenty of lube (TWSS).

Do you have any advice for a new picker, that prefers to pick in hand, but often struggles with cores that contain a lot of spools, due to hand cramps? I do have a suction desk vise, but i feel like i dont get anywhere near the same type of feedback id get vs in my hand. It might be the way i hold my pick, in which i let the shank of the pick rest on the last knuckle of my middle finger, and my pointer finger i throw over the top of the handle so it falls in front of my thumb. holding it the way everyone else seems to, like a pencil, feels off to me, also makes it harder to feel the pins for some reason

I don't really see the point of that type of key control, as it would be very easy to just file the same notch in every position. That way it wouldn't matter where the ballbearing was.

looks like a good lock, shame i aint going anywhere near it. why pick a lock when i can just unscrew roof sheets, or pop or grind hinges, or unbolt and smash windows. 100 other ways to brak in. hows it hold up to thermite? or my fav awesome lock like this on a wooden door or frame. anys, cool vid.

You are drilling the wrong point. But that put to one side....what is the point of the drill protection if it has zero anti snap protection?. There is NO excuse to be manufacturing euro cylinders meant for exterior doors with zero snap protection. Manufacturers are still doing it. On anthor note...the cheapskate manufacturers need to unite and change the industry. They need to improve their products to meet today's standards. Even if it means they agree on new prices that all customers will have to pay. In an ideal world maybe. I say the steel bolts on metal gates....I was thinking....they could easily produce anti angle grinder sliding bolts if they can do that with shackles for his security applications if not all their door hardware. No excuses because it can be done
