These are things that USPS Tractor Trailer Operators or truck drivers do when they pick up or deliver mails and packages at the plant. I work as a dock clerk and here are my experiences working hand-in-hand with USPS truck drivers.
Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO)
In this role you will regularly operate a heavy-duty tractor-trailer in all weather conditions either in over-the-road, city shuttle service, or trailer spotting operations. Benefits may include health insurance and retirement. This position requires a commercial driver’s license. Many TTO positions offer short delivery runs allowing you more time with your family at home.
Job Description
Operate a tractor-trailer for an assigned delivery route according to a schedule
Pick up and deliver bulk mail at postal installations, railroad facilities and airports
Monitor the condition of the tractor-trailer and report accidents, defects or failures
Pick up, load, carry and deliver moderate to heavy mail and packages

Working as a Dock Clerk at USPS gave me a first hand experience working with truck drivers TTO helping them with delivery and picking up mails. This is a fast pace work environment which suits me because there are no boring moments.

Hi Marie, congrats on your U.S. citizenship (a ship full of citizens - lol) I'm a USPS MVO (truck driver) and a long subscriber to your channel. Love your charm and wit, reminiscent of Jay H of the channel EVERYTHING USPS WITH JAY H - check him out. The things that secure the truck tires are "chucks" usually metal, the yellow things to secure the load are "straps". The dock workers - at least where I am - usually wait for the driver to remove them before they can unload you which I don't understand. They can just as easily walk in the truck and remove them themselves. When we help we load or remove everything except pallets (the things that require a manual or electric pallet jack) but sometimes drivers use a manual pallet jack just so they can leave quicker. Watching the electric pallet jack drivers work is like watching a ballet dance at the opera. The grace and efficiency is amazing. You can save a lot of ballet and opera money by just watching these people work.

Hi YT Trucker, I agree. My friend uses manual pallet jack, we work in tandem, I will scan the boxes and he will pull them out the swim lanes. Smooth process. Thanks for sharing your MVO experience.

I was just hired as MVO to drive the 7 and 11 ton box trucks and i start orientation in 2 days! Im looking up videos about the truck drivers but there are not many. Thanks for the info and congrats on the citizenship 🇺🇸 🍾

@@yep2088 - Its awesome, one of the easiest truck driving jobs. There are a few things to get used to like any job but once you get into the routine of things its great. Remember to always look for the loading dock entrance to post offices and not the front door address. Drop a pin on your cel phone map/gps every time you go to a new place and save it with the zip code of that zone, that helps alot. Good luck 👍

Hey Jay In pickle dropped an apc handle on right big toe n have to limp to not put pressure on it while it's healing. Should I report it happened yesterday. I'm still in 90 day probation also co worker I'm with hit his wrist on bmc n it swolled up n then went way after week he didn't report it since believe will get fired since we in 90 day probation. My coworkers who are regular day since I'm in 90 days I shouldn't report it may get let go. Even supervisors I told said don't tell me after I told them because they said they have to put it in system n wrote incident report she asked am I sure I want to report it n with all the info from her n coworkers I decided not to. Would like your input

you have to report it the same day it happened and they will ask you if you need to see a doctor. If so they will ask do you have your own doctor or want to us USPS doctors? If you said USPS they will send you to an urgent care chosen by USPS. Then they will file a worker's compensation depending what the doctor says or if they think it is not your fault. Sometimes if you hurt yourself and it's your fault they may terminate you. So now that you see the whole picture it's up to you to decide.

Why are there no consequences for scanning something as delivered and "losing" packages in warehouses. Idk if I'm going to get my package at all but the neighbors get theirs six feet away from my door.. how does the USPS expect the customer to lose hundreds of dollars on "insured" packages?

If it's insured, go to the post office and file a claim, they will pay you back.

Go to the same website where you applied and look for an opening in another position. Apply to that position and once you get accepted tell your supervisor.
