I answer the question, "I am introducing an intern to the roles of UX. At the moment she has been given various tasks to support research but is struggling to see the big picture. Are there any resources you recommend to help explain the landscape of UX roles and help her understand how her practical skills fit."
Have a UX-related question you want me to answer? Post it in the comments.

I love this guy, and I think this may be the best video I've seen on defining UX.

Hi David, as always, thank you for this content. It's clear an straight to the point. I specifically appreciated your observation regarding the some contradictory definitions given to experience design. If I may provide one recommendation; in some cases, like the case of today's content, it might be useful to map or list the key points or elements of your subject on a whiteboard behind you or on a piece of paper or via a digital version. This would help both in understanding and remembering. I often use mind maps. I know this might be a bit more workload. Again thank you for your content

Good point Sam. Perhaps I should have included a slide to list the competencies?

Thanks for sharing, very useful! Binge-watching your content lately as it is very well structured and easy to grasp. Do you happen to have any in-depth resources for Generative Research (besides your video "What does good Discovery research look like?" I often find it the most rewarding but also challenging and the expectations that come with it are enormous in companies.

I'm glad you're finding the content useful. For a more in-depth resource on generative research, I'd recommend my book, "Think Like a UX Researcher".

It was great to know the context, the skills and roles summarized. Thanks for the episode David! I'm an engineer who turned into UX. And even I have some years of experience as a Product Designer. It has been hard to define the best-fit role for me. Based on this, I should try being a Product Owner. Well, let's see what happens!

Thanks for including content strategy! I see a lot of UX teams with no content practitioner and I think it's typically a miss (unless the org is very resource-constrained). Great video.
