Yes, this is a BRUSHED motor comparison. But you are correct, there is an upgrade kit that MJX offers to convert the MAIN motor (only) to brushless. If you want FULL brushless, you have to go the DIY route. (that is described for example by tiggertoo1962 on his blog on RCGroups) You can buy the kit at several chinese online vendors, the best known probably Banggood. (37.50$, free shipping). on top of that, google-ing "mjx f45 brushless" will give you a lot more choices to check out ...

Next step I will do is MJX F 45 main motor and tail motor with Main Motor Heat Sink :-) So far I have the following mods Upgraded Battery 7.4V 1000mAh 25C 61 g SKU067026 - 6.01€ for improving the center of gravity and for longer flight Red back light SKU127984 - 1,40€ for better visibility and orientation Battery low voltage Alarm SKU006458 - 2,10 € for safety landing and for improving the center of gravity Transmitter mod for for servo ultra setting (accelerate button replacement) - speed and agility Remove Tail Strut for better aerodynamics and for improving the center of gravity Bent Balance Bar horizontally SKU055997 for reducing bell rotor head and gyro effects, it means better aerodynamics and agility (This is the best option from all I've tested , including reducing the length of the arms. The worst was bent weights up) Shorten top of Main Inner Shaft SKU056689 (lower the aluminium cover) for prevent tail and canopy strikes. Twist the tail fin around the bottom screw 10 degrees forward (and drill new holes for the upper screws) for preventing tail propeller strike ground.

As I stated in the description, I compiled the facts as to WHY use a F45 motor instead of stock. I got mine for my frankencopter project, based on the reports of people who suggested this mod. Just watch the vid mentioned in the description and you see what its capable off. MJX seems to always solder the motor wires on the opposite (colored) way: red on "-" and black on "+". Nonetheless, the plug is the same way as stock, so if it is "just" plugged in, still + on + and - on -, so drop in fit.

Do you half to change both main and tail motor for it to work? I changed my main and it worked for 10 sec and died. I can not get the f45 motor to work. I switched the wires like you said and got off 3 feet off the ground and stopped. what next?

I just want too know, if with the bigger gear the motor will fit straight in, or must you change the main gear too I have bought the better motor but cannot get it in, I thought it is the bigger gear. Please your advise

Nice Video, you have the F45 engine in the V912 installed? My V912 engine had today during a flight 2 regular dropouts and the helicopter sank 4 to 5 meters away. Is it on the engine or on the board? Would you already replace the engine in such a case? Thanks for all the tips that you give the Helicopter friends. Peter

mjx motor plus the n50 tail motor used for the brushless main motor used makes the heli fly like a whole new heli. I love mine now with the new upgrades

Hello, can you help me. I have a new brushless V912 shivering back and forth in hover. I flew now in the evening with no wind and the heli is not quiet. What could be the cause. Gyro or rear engine? Would be nice, to hear from you. Kind regards! Peter

I wasn't so lucky as I could not simply pull the red and black wires free from the plug. I had to cut and spice and go buy a "butt plug" to hold the splice together to avoid soldering. A royal pain. Kinda wish I had gone with the F47 motor instead (assuming the the polarity was right?).

I have a WW Toys V 912. It flew great, then started spinning counter clockwise. Replaced tail motor, didn't help. Just replaced PCB and it still spins. Please reply with any suggestions. Thanks..Russ

Ok...all is good on your video presentation, but I'm confused on one thing? Looks like there is a brushed and brushless motor version for the MJX f45? Are you saying this is a brushed motor comparison? If it is brushless, where the heck do you order them??

Thanks tigertom...you were right. Just one question. How come it worked fine then quit and you have to reverse the wires to get it to work again. I'm stumped.

Have you tried installing the mjx f45 motor to the v912? Is it compatible with v912 circuit board?

The "circuit boards" are just to hold the surface mount filter capacitors. Nothing more. These capacitors are used to reduce interference, which was important with the older, lower frequency radio systems, but not so much with the newer 2.4 system.

I find it interesting that you prefer the F45 motor over the V913 motor. Why is that?

I used a v913 motor as well, but the dog gone polarity (red and black wires) were wrong to begin with so I had to switch em' which was a pain!

I switched it by the plug so i didn't have to solder.. only took me a few seconds

all I did was pull and switch the wires to make mine work in the v912

One extra tooth on the gear makes it not line up correctly. Too tight.
