From the beginning of the video, I can see that Stefan looked honestly tired of being hurt. But it was also clear that he was still madly in love with Elena.

This is a well acted scene. One of the best acted scenes. It's simple, sad, and it just feels authentic. Paul and Nina nailed this scene.

In season 2 when they were fake fighting because of Katherine, they had a plan that when Stefan said "I can't do this anymore Elena" he means "I love you"and she would reply with "Fine Stefan whatever " and mean "I love you too"... In this breakup Stefan said "I can't do this Elena, not anymore" and she said "I know"... That was a sad but beautiful link.. I ship Delena but I'll never unship Stelena 🖤

He fought his way back to her while being a ripper. She said if he didn't break through, he'd lose her forever. He fought and still he lost her. She doesn't only break his heart, but sleeps with Damon the very next day after the breakup. Undoubtedly, Elena is the most selfish and ungrateful character of the show. Stefan deserves better.

Kept making advances on her brother’s girl while his brother sacrificed himself over to Klaus to save his pathetic life! And a million other reasons that could fill a book! I saw this in Netflix when they broke up and it really made me sad more than just anything.

This scene is so heartbreaking and emotional......the acting is phenomenal. Also this scene showcases stefan's character. He's so calm as if trying to suppress the pain he is feeling and not lashing out in anger. Accepting the truth that the girl he loves no more loves him the way she used to. Also I think stefan feels the guilt that he didn't save her that night and he curses himself to put her through the suffering in season 3, while he was trying to kill Klaus. I really admire Stefan's character. I don't think anyone can hate Stefan's personality.

I really feel bad for Stefan. It felt like Elena was taken away from him the moment she died and turned into a vampire. That really was the turning point in the series and drove her towards Damon. I think she really loved Stefan but was attracted to Damon and just before she died ,she told Damom she would always choose Stefan no matter how she felt about Damon,just before she died.When she turned, everything changed, and poor Stefan got his heart broken

After a while I felt like she didn’t deserve Stefan and neither did Damon. But Stelena just worked so well together, he always respected her free will, was in love with her unconditionally (I personally think to the very end) and although he wasn’t perfect always had good intentions. Plus human Elena made it adamantly clear she chose Stefan. It sucks that Damon took advantage of Stefan being away to move in on Elena especially since he was gone to save Damon and protect Elena. One of the best comparisons between Stefan and Damon was Damon’s response to Stelena breaking up “I’d say I’m sorry but I’m not.” While Stefan’s response to delena getting together was “I’m not happy about Elena, but I’m not not happy for you.”

This moment is just it for them...It's so sad because they love each other so much and i'm kind of tired of the whole war between ship.. The facts are that Stelena was the heart of the show for the 3 first season, there was a change in producer and delena happend. Julie Plec said that the sire bond was the only way they found to make delena happend because there was no way in the world that Stefan and Elena would've just stop loving each other so There you have it this is fact. For me the show started degrating in season 4 because it started not making any sense, the way delena started was too fast and just didn't make any sense because how in the world would you start to date the guy who killed your brother intentionnaly? And that guy is your ex's boyfriend ? just how ? Elena just got worth, she always said that she was better than Katherine but she actually hurt stefan and damon even more... At least Katherine never pretended to be anything other than what she was... This scene was a good end for them, I was so tired of Stefan getting hurt, he's a great character and I'm happy that he found Caroline...

The cast and soundtrack of TVD is just something unique! I love this show and all the emotions it brings to me!

Some of you Stelena shippers need to understand that this was bound to happen. Even the song chosen for this scene perfectly reflects Stefan and Elena's circumstance. The song is called Walking Blind which is what Stefan and Elena would have been doing if they continued their relationship. They could either address the true problem (Elena being in love with Damon) or just keep walking blind pretending everything is fine. "We don't have to know We don't have it all worked out We can just keep walking blind" It's sad but this break up needed to happen, for both Stefan and Elena's sake. Damon and Elena were the best thing for each other and in this scene it shows that Stefan just felt in the way. Elena and Stefan truly cared for each other but like the song suggests, they would just be walking blind.

Ugh I get so sick of Elena talking about that girl that died. How many times will she use that excuse. Just say your feelings changed and you want Damon not Stefan
