We're just WAITING for this bus to blow up 😂 After yet another Custard the bus breakdown we found ourselves an angel in the disguise of a guy names Gordon.
We spent a few days off grid in the van just catching up on work and trying to avoid getting told off by the locals! 😂
But at the end of the week we made friend with an incredible guy called Steve from ‪@countryvanlifeuk‬ - he tells us exactly WHY he does vanlife and what being on the road does for him.

Craig 😘 Aimee 😘 What can I say ! I didn’t know you at all ! You certainly didn’t know me ! Stephen, that was just so from the heart, and am so glad that vanlife is helping you rebuild your life. I did ask you a bit about how you felt but didn't want to pry, but these two portrayed it beautifully. Glad you've made more vanlife friends and we loved meeting you and going on our pilgrimage lol. Life is so mysteriously cruel and beautiful. You never know what will happen from one moment to the next. Some of us have experienced the depths of cruelty that life can surprise you with, which result in those days, those months, even those years, where it feels impossible to put one foot in front of the other. But if you just hang on and breathe, and keep your eyes open for something, anything different, just like you courageously have, Steve, life will serve you its next miracle. And for you, it looks like it's the beauty and unconditional love of the vanlife community. So happy you've found your ray of light again. May it always shine bright inside you.

10 years and two days ago the same thing happened to my soul mate , I too took to van life and North Wales , time slowly heals but you never stop missing them every minute of every day. Thoughts are with you buddy x

Have just been to the same beach park up in Anglesey, noticed custard there, when I think Tania or maybe Aimee was doing pull- ups in the doorway. I am now regretting not speaking to you both. Thank you so much for this video. As i watch this today it would of been my cousins 41st birthday, however she passed away a couple of years ago from cervical cancer, leaving us all heartbroken. Many years ago I drove right through the centre of Chatham, in traffic, without a clutch, to get home. Even though not in a bus, I can definitely say, one of the most stressful half hours of my entire life. Well done!

Loss & grief come in many forms, death of a loved one or divorce ( in my case). Such an inspiring character, Steve & a stark reminder to everyone as Craig said, that life can change in an instant. The jets are Hawks, similar to what the Red Arrows fly, built by my employer, and the prop planes are Beechcraft Texan T1 trainers Right that's the nerdy bit out the way. Steve may just have become my inspiration. I plan on retiring soon and I may just have to sell my house and ebay all the contents and live in a van travelling round the country looking for toilets!.

🤗👀😁🤙😍🤣😭 UUUU guys . . . just epic, poignant, grace filled 'peeps' you are {don't listen to anyone telling yaz otherwise, hehe}. You warm the very cockles of one's heart week upon week. How it is that you do not have millions of subscribers 'still' baffles me. Theeeee editing footage with music of lighthouse {drone footage esp.} was sooo dreamy. Having the four of you galivanting about is simply *how it was meant to be* !! I always 'hope' yaz reads comments, but never sure with the schedules and social media/sponsorship commitments you have. I can empathise with Steve, after a divorce, I’ve been left with a building site for a home, my best friend of 47 years, more of a brother than a friend, was always there for me, but after a short illness, passed away this year, still can’t believe it, we did a 12 mile walk just before Christmas last year, no problems, but by the first week of March this year he was gone, as soon as I can get a job I like, to complete my house I want to travel, good luck to you all

Brilliant, glad you got to Anglesey at last. That wasn’t a little river at Cymyran (the place you stopped overnight near RAF Valley and sensibly moved the ‘buses’) it was the sea channel between Anglesey and Holy Island (the bit that Holyhead is on). Take care around there, ‘cos the current can take you out to sea. South Stack is special, at least to us. My husband’s great great grandfather was one of the lighthouse keepers there back in the late 19th century.

This happened to us on Fraser Island we lost our clutch and it was the master cylinder had a leak unfortunately it was New Year’s Eve so we had to get a part airdropped to the island for us 😂😂 Haha great video guys so glad custard is back on the road

Wow! I have driven many vans and cars with no clutch!! cable snapped!! it really is easy first put it in first gear hand break off start the engine when road clear press accelerator she will jerk but pull away 2nd gear ease off the throttle as the engine starts to slow just gently push into gear then throttle ( changing into a higher gear no throttle changing down pull out of gear then reave the engine take foot off the throttle as the engine slows drop into gear ) hope all goes well for custard!! best wishes Ken

I drove my vw van with no clutch throughout London - back in the 70s. Stop and go traffic even then. I was in front of the London Zoo - no less. What a racket!!!

The difference between the strangers you encountered at the start of this episode and the ones you encountered at the end are poles apart, and might show some people how they ought to be. It’s people like Steve that reinvigorate your faith in humanity when you’re worn down by all of those that just want to take their own frustrations out on you.

Well, driving around an Asda car park with no clutch.... I've never done that! Mind you, I have done it in a Tesco's car park. My friend and neighbour called me for help. Went there and drove the car home 15 miles for her. Then fixed it when the part was available. Also had my van break in the same car park once. Ball joint broke, suspension collapsed. Local parts place had one and brought it to me within about 15 minutes. Fixed it on the spot. That was truly good service from the parts supplier. There are some pretty good people out there.
