Day two of our Kayak Fishing trip to the West Coast of Vancouver Island certainly did not disappoint! An EPIC day of Salmon fishing from the kayaks proves once again that you don't need a big expensive boat to be able to catch fish!

It's incredible out here. There are no slot limits, although we still plan to let the 30lbers go, so far we haven't been able to break the 17lb mark, but we have one more day to make it happen!

Awesome fishing as usual, I still wonder why you haven't put an electric downrigger on that kayak yet , flick of a switch and put of the way. ???

Thank you! We've upgraded our downriggers to Cannon Uni trolls, still manual but much easier to bring up. We've been looking at some options for electric downriggers, possibly for next season we'll just have to wait and see but that would be awesome to have! Thanks for watching!

It can be extremely frustrating at times, and a ton of work, but when that fish comes in the boat it makes it all worth it, no better feeling! 🙌

Very nice video with kayak fishing partner 👍🏻 I know it's so hard to net a big Chinook on a boat by yourself!! I hope I can fish in Nanaimo sometime! I wanna do the same thing in lower mainland every weekend but I am not sure where can I find a good kayak fishing spot for salmon in lower mainland? Any suggestion ? 😁

Thanks for watching, hooking the fish is only half the battle, netting is a whole different game!😂 if you ever make it over to the island make sure to shoot us a message on Instagram or Facebook! As far as the lower mainland, we've never fished there before so have no idea where some spots would be, maybe try the Vancouver Island Kayak Anglers Facebook page, lots of knowledge in that group, or BC Fishing Addicts Facebook page could possibly point you in the right direction! Great video - enjoyed it. I’m going to be trying some trolling in a few weeks so am trying to learn as many tips to as possible. Regarding your lost cannon ball anchor, I had the exact same look on my face a few weeks ago when I watched my drone land in the water and not my hand 😂

Oh no! We just took our drone out for the first time, my heart was racing as I was brining back to the yak to land! Definitely takes some skill especially in swells but we managed to get it back safely, hopefully your footage wasn't ruined! Thanks for watching! 🫶

Love your videos! This is something I'd like to do from my 16' canoe with my daughter - have whales / sea lions been an issue for you guys in the smaller vessels?

Glad you like them! We've never had any issues with whales or sealions, we've had orcas around us and humpbacks, they couldn't care less that we were there, sometimes the sealions come for a closer look but we never drag our fish in the water and so far they haven't caused us any problems, out of sight, out of mind! 😂 Thanks for watching! 🙌

Great video. Love the channel. Can you tell me what kind of leggings you guys are wearing? Are they a special water resistant fabric?

Thank you! We wear a variety of legging type pants from Back Country Skinz along with their waterproof socks. Most of the time, we are wearing their UV compression pants, not waterproof but quick drying, we use them mainly for sun protection as we hate sunscreen! 😂 for colder morning launches in our early spring and late fall fishing, we use the Z-Series Neoprene pants for the added warmth that the 1mm Neoprene offers. www.backcountryskinz.com for all of the detailed specs! You both need bigger nets, and when you net the fish, just point the rod towards the sky and the fish will be beside the boat, and then irs easier to get in the net!

Ya we're definitely in the market for some deeper nets, luckily our small nets haven't led to any lost fish yet, come pretty close though! 😂

Scotty Lake Troll with a Scotty 343 mount and Pacific Yak Angler Aluminum Gear Tracks, worked great for the time we had them, this season we've upgraded one kayak to a Scotty 1050 and the other to a Cannon Easy Troll
