OMG, this is such a yummy Vegan Feta recipe! You will not want to buy feta in the shops ever again when you can make a much healthier version at home!
Vegan Feta Cheese
1 cup cashews, soaked
250 to 300g extra firm tofu
2 Tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
5 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp white wine vinegar
1 Tbsp kapa carrageenan powder
1 1/4 cup plant milk
1 tsp miso paste
2 1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Blend all of the ingredients until smooth, pour into a pot and cook until the mixture starts to bubble. Transfer to a glass container and let it set overnight or for at least 2 hours in the fridge. Enjoy!

Thank you for this! fascinating method. I wonder how to make it crumbly like feta? maybe separate out some portions like "curds" to set partially, then press the curds together?

wow this is different take on vegan cheese. it looks amazing. I am planning on trying your spam recipe with my okara this week. may try this one at the same time. your speaking a lot more smooth in this one also. great video. thx for this. I find the violife feta more like a goat cheese than feta.

You can try agar agar in the same proportions or some psyllium husk powder with less liquid and without heating. I hope you like it 🙂

Does it crumble? I make a soy-free version (because I’m allergic) that slices and crumbles like its diary counterpart. Your recipe looks like a lower priced alternative for those with soy allergy. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, you could crumble it. Not too crumbly, but a little bit 🙂

Yes, absolutely, you can use sunflower seeds instead of cashews 🙂

How does this react to reheating? This is a very helpful recipe! I bet it will be great in salads and on pizza. 🤤 I love creative uses for tofu!

You can use agar agar as that's what original recipe used. Also I might experiment setting it with psyllium husk powder, less liquid and no heating.

For thickening you can use tapioca flour right?

You can try using tapioca flour here, but it will have a different texture, it will be more stretchy.

Hello, How to store this feta and for how long ? Can it be frozen?

You should store it in a container in the fridge and use it up in 5-7 days. When frozen, the texture would change, I haven't tried it yet.
