I usually skip through videos like, just get me to what I need to know to make it! But I sat here and watched this WHOLE video, crackin up!! So entertaining and funny, had to subscribe.

If anyone is interested, mushrooms are a reasonable alternative to vegan meat for anyone who doesn't like the concept of vegan meat. When cooked, mushrooms have a similar texture to meat and pack a punch of umami. A few weeks ago, I made a vegan gumbo and a chicken and sausage gumbo for everyone in my dorm. One of my roommates is a pescatarian (technically) but does not like shellfish, so I could not make a shrimp/crawfish gumbo. They also don't like vegan meat, but being a broke college student adds up. As such, I made a mushroom and bean gumbo for them for the vegan alternative.

That gumbo looks amazing!!! However to get a darker roux which adds to the richness of the gumbo start of with less oil add as needed and you will know the roux is dark enough when it is the the color of chocolate candy bar and you can sauté veggies separately not with the roux. I think you are amazing and I enjoy watching you and have picked up many tips from you.😊

I'm thinking about the gumbo from Saturday. I'm going back and forth with you and Bforeal!! All I know is I'm making this!!
