Samayal kalai is a noble one as it is not just for satisfying the taste buds/stomach/ intestines. As we all know, it is an Aahuti for jatharagni in the digestive system. Love your passion. If you don't mind I would like to add the following. An eatery's true name and fame come from the owner's unwavering philosophy (as exemplified by your father), their employees' goodwill and their combined hard work, not from cinema personalities visiting them. Yes they do have a place in our society like most of us, but in my humble opinion we don't have to associate them with other things to seek endorsement or credence.

Brilliant sir...I have not had medhu pakoda at Durga..but have had urulaivada..which was blooooody gooooooood..sorry for the expression.....but that's the only way to describe it...I fondly remember the place and have seen yiur 'tough' looking father..who had a good rapport with his customers...soopper experience listening to this episode... I plan to cook this for my grandson myself despite all objections from my health conscious daughter...ha ha.. Another great example of exemplary food is the Pongal at Durga...OOW..out of the world....but I have managed to copy that quite well and am happy it's turned out well.
