In case anyone is interested in how high that last jump was, I did the math. It was 40 inches. See work below: This video is 24 fps. The last jump took 11 frames for him to reach his peak. the formula for finding the distance is d = 1/2 * acceleration * time^2. d = 1/2 * 9.81 * (11/24)^2 = 1.03 meters = 40.5 inches.

@@tenzinlee6393 oh, I see!
@godofgamers38842 жыл бұрын
I don't think the number on the mat is incorrect. your calculations were made assuming the jump was done in a vacuum which isn't accurate. If factored in air resistance it would probably be more accurate. I play college football and we measured our verticals using the the plate, vertec, and frame counting. frame counting tends to overestimate your vertical the most. The plate is more accurate but not as accurate as the vertec. athletes tend to bend their legs before landing on the jump plate which increases hang time more than it would if they landed with straight legs. since pretty much all of them landed with bent legs it's more than likely their verticals displayed in the video are overestimated and higher than the their actual verticals. using frame counting many of the highest jumpers in the NFL combine get 45+ inch verticals but only register a 38-40 inches using the vertec.

Going to full depth reduces the height they can reach on their vertical leap. So everyone here can jump much higher by not going so far down. Also, the arm swings over and over mid air reduce height of the jump as well.
@joys86342 жыл бұрын
bs lmao they squat to depth, so their strength doesn't transfer over as much. They train heavy loads with only weights. They don't do plyos, so overall power is average compared to athletes. Lots of strength though. I can only squat half of what they squat, but my vert is higher than all of them
