Doing some rough calculations, thomas was hitting with over 300,000 lbs of force and Roy with over 200,000 at point of impact. All things considered. That little anvil held up alright

The heel on most London pattern anvils is usually the weakest spot, so that breaking off didn't surprise me at all. I mean, for the money... Show me better.

Really can't show you better bang for the Buck... In my opinion this anvil in normal use would last a complete newb decades.

considering the 66 twin horn passed i was expecting it to have a better grain, breaking fair enough its at a double weak point in being the thinnest part and through the hole

That right there is a perfect example of why you make a mild steel striking anvil if you’re going to be using sledgehammers

It did what I expected. I knew the tail was going to break off but it should be able to withstand normal usage.

I wish someone would do the same tests on the more reputable contemporary anvil makes/models (i.e. Emerson, Scott, JHM, TFS) to see how they hold up. I know that would be expensive for the tester

You fellows gave her the beans. No doubt. Tbh i wasnt surprised the tail broke off and expected it to fracture thru the hardy hole. Thanks for sharing this. I believe it proves once again the vevor 66lb London pattern is the best in class for the money spent. Good test. Lets see whats next for this little gal 😊 Blessings abundant Sir Crawford out 🙏🔥⚒️🧙🏻‍♂️

I knew that tail was going to break that seem to be the weakest part of that anvil someone else said that as well in their review, they were worried that that would break off overtime

Just the design of the anvil? It's thin compared to the thick tapered heel of a German pattern.

The shipping alone to send it back would be astronomical which is why I'd never buy one of these when for roughly the same price point, Harbor Freight sells that 65 pound Doyle. At least with Harbor Freight, if there are any issues, just return it to the store and that eliminates any shipping costs. You may either choose to get a refund or an exchange depending on what their stock levels are at the time with no questions asked. I am not saying the brands that HF are selling are any better than Vevor. But, why deal with the added shipping costs if you experience any issues when there is at least one retailer who is willing to remove that issue from the equation in order to secure your business?
