Rumor has it that there is a secret drug in Haiti that can turn the living into Zombies. In part 5, Hamilton takes a large dose of the zombie powder to prove his strength. He is rewarded with a peak inside a zombie's shed.

Have to say, I think that one of the reasons that the Bokors keep getting pissed off at them is that the translator is taking some liberties. For instance, he translated "Thank you for showing us this, could you show us a zombie" to "They are unhappy, show them a zombie"

No. I’m Haitian. I fully object to your comment. The guy inside is actually by definition a “zombi” he is mentally dysfunctional and he is here to serve the Bokor (guy with red shirt). The zombi would conduct work during the day like in the field (rice, corn...) and also the “zombi” would help with preparation and maintaining the Bokor magical practices, preps. and spiritual evocations routine. The guy we saw is in fact a “zombi”. He was pronounced dead, went under-earth, then “Bokor” within 24hrs came back and get him back with multiple compositions made of natural elements such as herbs, bones, alcohol-rum to get him back and also spiritual evocation and appellation to sieze the person in question good-soul and consciousness to then they become “zombi”. The zombi will die one day alone and bokor might even have him/her excavate his/her grave before they die. FYI: Haitian legislators at the parlement are trying to pass law that would put bokors who practices and preserve “zombi” to go to jail. Haitian society is against the practice of ‘´zombi’’. The Haitian voodoo is strong and complex. It is a religion but also a social reality of every Haitian. Every Haitian family is connected to Voodoo somehow. This phenomenon is very common in Haiti especially in country side. That guy has balls and he just experienced something big. The powder however can be fake. Bokor never give powder to people just for money. The powder comes also with spiritual evocations and appellations. It is not just a chemical that is potent. Anyway, thank for commenting

You are right, they are in a hallucinogenic state. It is possible that Hamilton felt no effect because he smokes weed, and the drug affects the brain similar to other drugs, and smoking weed builds an immunity.
