I didn’t move out until I was 32. The arrangement suited all of us. We enjoyed each others company & and had a mutually beneficial relationship. I don’t think anyone owes anyone else an explanation as to why u might live with your parents as an adult. In some European countries, families build up on top of their homes, to make a home for the child. The more children, the taller the home. Eventually the children look after their parents/grandparents. They don’t have homes for the elderly. Care is provided by family. I absolutely support this, and would have happily had my parents living with me, or in the flat underneath, if I’d had one. 😊

30 is old to be living with parents, but it happens now more than ever. I lived at home a lot of my twenties due to financial issues. Definitely a millennial thing, we haven’t been able to adult like previous generations (also getting on the property ladder nowadays is hard) When things went wrong for older gens they just seemed to cope better. My mother left my abusive father with 3 children in tow, including a baby, and set up a new home in a strange town with barely any money and no help from family. I can’t even fathom doing that lol I would be going straight to live with her. I definitely think it is understandable when a person has a physical or mental illness, or some kind of disability, and they need help (not everyone does ofc). I actually find it more normal that Eugenia lives at home, because she actually does have a serious illness, she likely needs help with many aspects of daily life, or just someone to keep check on her in case she falls. She is kind of like an elderly person now. I find it strange that people ask her when she’s moving out, because I don’t think she should ever consider it now, that ship has sailed. It would be dangerous for her. I doubt she could manage it anyway.

I was never far from thin and nor were my cousins, but her anger always came out at us, constantly mocking and shaming little girls. She started before I was 10 telling me, and my cousins we LOOK fat. Sent both of us to tears a d doubt at a very young age . My cousin went OFF the rails with Ana, and i decided to study psych to try to help. I was a dancer gymnast too and it touched me there also. It's everywhere females are expe Ted to maintain a perfe t form and weight. I ended up being a teacher counselor and now in medicine and nothing has changed since I was a child. Nor could I ever help my aunt or cousin much. I never learned more about why people succumbed, but hers was angry at her parents, and she took up her misery on other girls trying to make us feel unworthy because she felt unworthy. @@logic7753 your mind gets so warped from the disease. I was never outwardly fat shaming but I did think I was better than others because I was so thin. It's sick and awful but I'm being honest. Your mind goes mental when you are in that zone. I used to even secretly judge people when I was grocery shopping, and if they put pasta or bread in their cart I would think they were inferior to me. It's so ridulous. I have been in recovery for a long time, but that evil little voice is always at the back of your mind telling you are not good enough and not eating is the answer. I pay no attention to it. It makes no sense and I am happy I have healthy relationship with food and I'm actually a bit overweight. I will never go down that road again. I made the decision to get help though. No one forced me. Eugenia is the only one who can save herself.

@@hay-leyhoo I was also on proana groups. I was on them for hours, even when I was at work. Everyone posts their height, measurements, weight and goal weight so it actually becomes quite competitive. No I never had severe body dysmorphia. I was already on the skinny side when I started restricting my food. Looking back I think it was totally about having control and getting attention. The thing is, you get to the point where you struggle to eat, even if you want to . So, ultimately the disease controls you.

I was put on a 5150 when I had a mental breakdown after being diagnosed with lupus, very ill physically, my husband deciding he was leaving me, and finding out he was doing dudes the last 5 yrs of our 12 yr relationship and I snapped and wanted to end me.. it was the worst experience ever… I literally almost clocked a chick bc she was just banging on the walls around my head and when I asked staff to tell her to quit it they said they can’t she’s a frequent flier snd needs to do this, I said well wtf am I in here for then if you’re letting people antsy antagonize the other people in here, doesn’t seem right and Also if I’m this clear minded why the f am I here. I only wanted to self delete, I’m not delusional and clearly you’re not helping any of us.. wtf is our healthcare system????

Our accommodations for 72 hiur holds are ALL 100% ineffective at anything except sedati g some temporarily and exacerbate g the symptoms of others while adding entrapment and being g treated like a subhuman in the mass of illness in the facility. I was the pharmacist for these units, and it made me so sad.. waiting out the 72 and hopefully getting into a better center is all I used to hope for these people, and MANY are Kids eho simply expressed that same intent you expressed. That is NOT the appropriate response to it, but it is our standard.. I've never seen it do much, but shock some into never speaking about it again Here's to hoping you found a better place for yourself and make huge distance between yourself and that bad time 😊 It's really sad. If she's lucky enough to make it into her 30s, she's in for a rude awakening. I'm in my mid 30s. For many people the poor lifestyle choices they made throughout their 20s that didn't seemingly "affect" them at the time can hit them like a ton of bricks in their 30s. We enter another stage of the human life cycle, our hormones slightly change and our bodies begin to accept less abuse. We suddenly start to understand why everyone warned us to do better in our 20s. Not saying she's not affected. She clearly is. But she seems to think she's doing just fine, and maybe she does indeed feel fine in spite of it all. There might be pharmaceutical reasons behind that. But all those nutritional defeciencies are coming for her in the form of various health problems - if she doesn't die suddenly from heart failure first.

She's already on borrowed time. Most people with severe EDs don't live past 32. Last Christmas may be the appropriate song.
