I am curious where the idea that she doesn’t know what she’s doing ever came up to begin with. I’ve said it myself and believed it, but now looking back and being realistic about AN and what it typically entails, I feel pretty foolish to have had the wool pulled over my eyes. She can be a very sick person worthy of empathy in that one respect bc no one should suffer, but she can simply not be a good person at the same time. She’s never had any consequences in her life, other than the ones she’s self imposed, but other than that, she’s been coddled and gotten whatever she wanted for 3+ decades, aaaaaaaaall the way back to the bratz dolls. Why would her mom need money or be without money if Eugenia died? When the dad has a high paying career? Or did they divorce? Alimony, then, perhaps. Either way, downsizing from their large home to something more reasonable for a single older woman would ensure plenty of money for some time. Pretty sure there's more than one house. They probably have investments that they've had for years if the dad is any good at managing finances. Her mom also has a grown son. Seems a stretch that this of all things would be her motivation.

ty for taking the time and thought to say this. I'm in recovery from a personality disorder and b;ehavious in my school years I am. not proud of. Over a few years of no guidance or care from caregivers, I gradually became a massivelfy toxic person who would be toxic to make people laugh or like me or whatever, I honestly couldn't say. On the one hand it's completely understandable given what home life was like at ;the time, ; yet on the other hand I am so fking embarrassed. Recovery means filling in the gap between these two perspectives on that part of my life.

If Eugenia’s voice was being effected by her malnutrition, it’s more than likely she would be straining to talk and that her voice would be lower pitched and more hoarse. However a good example of when she may be experiencing the effect of malnutrition on her vocal chords is when she stutters. Eugenia does not have a natural stutter but there’s many videos where she seems to be having trouble getting a word out. This 100% could be a result of malnutrition. The high pitched voice is not, though we can assume on the days where she’s not doing the high pitched voice, she probably is feeling sicker than normal and very well may not be able to.

Her body is cannibalising itself. It will consume muscle, and probably bones too. The body will leach the calcium out of bone that her body isn't getting. Her heart is also at risk. She won't get a menstrual cycle because the body is prioritising other things like keeping her alive. She couldn't get pregnant because of this as her body is in such bad shape. I'm surprised she has hair and teeth because those things are also not prioritised. She is at end stage now.

The feelings or concepts of empathy and sympathy are different, so I think I get what you mean. Sounds like you empathize but don't really sympathize or pity her. I feel similar about her. For instance.. like the previous replies to your comment show.. people tend to get outraged now days if someone acknowledges someone else's crappy or sad existence if that person has qualities they personally despise. Even if you make no excuses for the person, they'll take empathy as sympathetic pity when it isn't the same thing to begin with. All the money in the world doesn't change how fvcked her life & legacy is. Eugenia choosing any of it, or all of it, is beyond sad on a basic human level. As humans most of us can empathize with her general human experience. Empathy is how we relate to one another during each & every human interaction. We empathize with the good, the bad, the ugly. I have empathy and sympathy primarily for the younger Eugenia who went down this path years ago. Whatever the reason(s) are, they certainly aren't based in anything positive. I have empathy for her but these days I have little-to-no sympathy for her adult choices, especially over the last 5 or so years. It's hard not to empathize with someone's ups & downs if you have the ability to empathize. Eugenia knowingly welcoming death at a young age, briefly recovering.. only to then reject the people that cared enough to get her hospitalized.. then ending up back in her ED and becoming worse than ever. That's objectively sad. The whole world having a front row seat to her deterioration is objectively sad on a human level EVEN if it's her choice to put herself on display. That's a troubled mind. It's uncomfortable to witness. That uncomfy feeling followed by "what? why?" is based in empathy because even our subconscious knows that she's deeply unwell and physically deteriorating. It's objectively twisted and sad. It's objectively sad that someone's life went in this direction, and objectively disturbing that people consume it as their continual entertainment. It's objectively sad that we live in a world where we can't have laws to ensure people like her don't die.. because other people will exploit those laws and cause further harm. I have no sympathy for the adult Eugenia who has slyly manipulated her mostly impressionable audience for many years. I can't suffer fools that rely on victimhood to get by. I don't pity her even if I pity her former child self. Pity being an extension of sympathy. Empathy is just the recognition that someone's dealing with something heavy.
